I find this article very factual in regards to Michael Jackson's record sales. Even though, Jackson never released as many albums as Elvis Presley. But,neither did the Beatles. So in retrospect, he deserves to be in this upper echelon of incomparable and greatest entertainers who became truly unequal in the annals of popular music history. Only time will tell if he can keep selling records with the insurmountable large volume of sales that only Presley accomplished in the aftermath of his death and beyond. It is believed and estimated through independent audited figures that Presley is closing in on the 2 billion mark for record sales in all formats. To reiterate, time will tell if Michael Jackson reaches that zenith of enduring iconic status.

GOOD AFTERNOON GENTLEMEN. IF THERE IS AN ERRONEOUS CALCULATION IT WOULD HAVE TO BE ON THE PART OF THE RECORDING INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA.
CASE IN POINT: ELVIS PRESLEY STILL HAS OVER 200 ALBUMS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN CERTIFIED IN SALES OR ACCOUNTED FOR IN THE CERTIFYING PROCESS BY THE RECORDING INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA. MOREOVER IN THE FOUR MONTHS AFTER HIS DEATH,200 MILLION RECORDS WERE SOLD WORLDWIDE, 80 MILLION ALBUMS IN THE UNITED STATES ALONE. THESE INDEPENDENT AUDITED FIGURES HAVE NEVER BEEN ADDED TO PRESLEY'S PALTRY FIGURE OF 134.5 (IN THE USA) WHICH ACCORDING TO THE RECORDING INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA IS WHAT THEY STATE HE HAS SOLD IN ALBUMS.YET HE HAPPENS TO BE WAY AHEAD IN GOLD AND PLATINUM CERTIFICATIONS IN BOTH SINGLES AND ALBUMS. PRESLEY HAS AN OVERALL ACCUMULATED TOTAL OF 257 GOLD PLATINUM AND MULTI PLATINUM SINGLES AND ALBUMS. HIS CLOSES RIVALS ARE THE 2ND PLACE BEATLES WHO HAVE AN ACCUMULATED TOTAL OF 148 GOLD PLATINUM AND MULTI PLATINUM SINGLES AND ALBUMS AS CERTIFIED BY THE RECORDING INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA. IF WE GATHER ALL THE FACTS THEN THERE CAN BE NO DOUBT THAT ELVIS PRESLEY IS THE MOST SUCCESSFUL AND GREATEST RECORDING ACT OF ALL TIME. BAR NONE.

Mr. Dolbyscat, when facts are facts there is no need to shout. Once in a while it is good to write in caps to make a better point sir. There is no exaggeration in Presley's numbers,in any event his numbers are way under certified by the Recording Industry Association of America.By the way happy Fourth of July.

Mr. Abreu....I am certain that Dolbyscat appreciates your thoughtfulness in wishing him a happy Fourth of July. But you might have missed the fact that Mr. Doblyscat resides in Canada and is a citizen of said country. Are you attempting to bestow honourary American citizenship on the cat?? And yes...where Dolbyscat comes from....it is spelled honoUrary...

To Mr. Poo Poo Pee Doo: I was not aware of his citizenship status, and I do apologize for the erroneous calculation and misrepresentation on my
part as pertaining to the gentleman. I, on the other hand, am an immigration attorney residing in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. Moreover, even though I cannot bestow honoUrary citizenship on the gentleman I can be at his disposal in any type of immigration endeavors should he want to come to the United States
for any particular reason. To reiterate, I am at your service. Good day sir.

Let me clear up a couple of points:

1. I am a citizen of the United Kingdom.

2. I am a permanent resident of the USA.

3. I also have a home in Canada.

4. I have an attorney already and I feel sure
he does not spend his time on an Elvis forum.

I'm guessing things must be rather quiet on the immigration front in Miami....or maybe your dubious reputation precedes you...???

As we all can see Dolbyscat is a citizen of the world. And it shows in his many worthwhile and educated posts. Thanks from all of us cat for being part of this forum. I for one have a genuine appreciation for your wit and wisdom, knowledge and expertise. You are truly a valued members of the Elvis Topix forum!!! And you raise an excellent point. Slow day at the lawyers office for our attorney friend to be posting here!!! No clients??? LOL...

Gentlemen:I have been an Elvis fan all my life. I enjoy helping people and of course helping them Pro Bono if need be. I also enjoy having an interesting conversation with people whose personal point of views and personal demeanor is virtually different from mine. I have nothing to divulged to you gentlemen pertaining to my clientele or in your erroneous estimation a lack of clientele. Dubious reputation? We do not even know each other Mr. Dolbyscat. I guess you make judgments on people without knowing them. Anyway this is an Elvis forum, there is no need to be offending someone when there is a different point of view on something as minuet as Elvis selling more records than Michael Jackson. Moreover I know at least 10 professionals (attorneys included) who spend time talking to people on the Elvis forum. Yes,they also talk to people whose personal demeanor fits your personal profile.Have a good day sir.,

That would be the reason I used the word "maybe", it was in relation to the whole sentence. To a lot of people just the fact you are a lawyer would make you of a dubious character....I myself would not come to such a conclusion without good reason. A quick on-line search found nothing to suggest you are anything but a Florida attorney.

Mr Dolbyscat : Not all lawyers are dubious characters. Furthermore not all lawyers are unethical. I happen to have a good reputation and can afford to have the time to chat about topics of leisure through the web. By the way I am licensed and practice law in Louisiana, Philadelphia Pennsylvania, and California. I presently reside in North Miami Florida. For your information Immigration Law is under Federal statutes meaning you can be licensed in any state and thus practice law in any state. We will figure out a way to chat about the Elvis vs Jackson records sales sometime tomorrow. I have to go back to work within the next hour. You a wonderful evening sir.,

Hey Vic you don't have to convince me...convince the other 99% of the population. Ask them the first word that comes to mind when they think of lawyers, betcha it is something like "bottom-feeder", "scum bag", or "Senator/Congressman "...Am I wrong??

Mr Dolbyscat : Unfortunately you are right!! Our reputation is well ..... not a good one. A short story about President Lincoln. While he was a merchant/owner of a small store somewhere in Eureka, Illinois. Legend has it that he walk five miles in order to return a lady customer a nickel that she had overpaid him at his store. This is the reason that his likeness and image is imprinted on a five dollar bill. To quote the law professor who divulged this story to us while in law school many years ago. In amplifying this story he told us that "the day's of Lincoln and honest lawyers have long cease to exist. Moreover he also stated and I quote "that today's lawyers leave a lot to be desire when it comes to ethical comportment". However I really like to think that they are "some" honest lawyers out there. I believe I have written too much on this particular topic. I would not like any angry written retaliation concerning our approval rating dilemma. Anyway do you think Elvis and Michael Jackson really sold a billion records each?

It really doesn't matter what I think, I can never truly be sure nor can you or anyone else. 1,000,000,000 is one big number ain't it? To put a little perspective on it, that is five times the amount that Pink Floyd has sold...personally I don't buy it...I won't lose any sleep over it either.
