At the last, when he realized that while he had made Priscilla so proud of him at last, by coming back BIG TIME in show business, only to find out that she was having an affair with Mike Stone all along, then to have the MM come out with their tell all book, he must have been miserable.
I don't envy the rich very much.

The MM sold sensational stories on Elvis for money and profit.

Elvis was no longer living to defend himself.

It was all bullshit and true Elvis fans know it.

A few years after his death, the bad stuff seemed sell the most.

But in reality, Elvis worked with his declining health issues.

Some wanted to bring him down but that never really happened.

Elvis was still an excellent artist even overweight and on drugs.

They can't stand that Elvis pushed himself for his fans.

What Elvis really needed was time out to get himself clean.

Too bad that Parker was so greedy and wanted Elvis on the road.

That's right Octo. Elvis's weight gain or loss never affected his powerful voice just like Ann Wilson she got fat but her voice only got better. Elvis was worshipped by many of his fans.Media likes to write negative crap when they get a chance it happed to Everyone who is super famous.

I always thought it was a non issue.

Elvis gained and lost sometimes within only months in the same year.

Pix from the summer of 1976 show him fat but by fall, he lost weight.

The negative crap was written to take shots at Elvis fans.

Besides, Elvis never claimed to be perfect.

It was because they were jealous of his looks to try and knock him.

To me, it didn't matter what Elvis looked like.

It was always about the music and the performances.

There are some really bad and fat Elvis impersonators in mockery.

But they are not the real man.

Elvis fans have to live with that cheapening of Elvis's legacy.

Still, I never thought of Elvis that way.

Elvis was a personality, movie star and a musical legendary figure.

To know him is to love him.

I still enjoy his music.

It came from within and no one can copy the real emotion he gave.

Elvis made his music his own like Jimi Hendrix was able to do.

As soon as people hear it, they know exactly who it is.

BTW, the new Jimi Hendrix release is really awesome.

I am stunned how ahead of time it is.

Stevie Ray Vaughan would've have shit.

The performances are incredible.

I can't believe the vision that Hendrix had in head.

It was like he saw the future in a crystal ball.

The beginning of the album sounds very modern.

Then you hear different things going on.

It is quite amazing and it is all studio outtakes.

It is a very well put together Hendrix disc.

The stories are true. There is nothing that the MM said that has been proven to be untrue. Sensationalised at times, yes, but true.

But I agree with you; Elvis should have taken time off and got himself clean.

The irony is that, had he done that and admitted to the world he had a drug problem, we all would have said "okay, go get clean, see you when you're ready". But Elvis thought the world would desert him if he admitted anything.

Very sad indeed.

I don't normally praise Hendrix that much.

But his playing on this new release is quite impressive.

Hendrix was such a perfectionist.

Who knows why he kept these things in the vault.

The stuff mostly comes from the 1968-1969 period.

Hendrix recorded in the studio every chance he got, apparently.

It sounds like he was trying different styles with other musicians.

There are some nice instrumentals, jazz, blues, fusion ideas.

The Jimi Hendrix legacy certainly shines brightly on this disc.

The magic is there. It is great stuff.

I recommend it if you like want to check out something different.

All classic rock fans should be amazed by these performances.

I can tell a little dip in quality on "Let Me Move You"

That is the fifth song on the CD and it is high energy r & b.

But all the other songs are eye opening.

You can some of them were not exactly finished or mastered.

The sheer excitement of the fantastic guitar playing is worth it.

Jimi's voice even sounds inspired by the music.

Red and Sonny's book "Elvis: What Happened" only made things worse.

After Elvis died, what was the point of adding more to it?

Elvis's drug problems were his personal issues.

Like many men in that era, Elvis was ashamed and brushed it off.

He thought he could handle it himself and tried to stay positive.

It really wasn't anyone's business.

Besides, Elvis indirectly let his fans know something was up.

They twisted things around to make it worse than it actually was.

That is where Albert Goldman came in with his stupid book.

It was somewhere in between.

He didn't deserve to get trashed because he was drug addicted.

Elvis did the best he could under the circumstances.

He was hurt easily by Priscilla leaving him.

Drug addiction made it difficult for him to deal with his emotions.

He was a man who kept everything inside.

He didn't spill his guts like a woman.

Have you seen Alana Nashes writing? I did not think anyone could be worse than Goldman, but she is. Inventing new and different accusations. And of course, for the most part, the stupid public believes them.

Elvis poked fun of himself about his weight at times from the stage.

He knew he had weight issues and accepted them.

Anyway, only critics or curious non fans had a problem with it.

The image of Elvis staying the same is what they wanted.

I still think it was a non issue.

I have enough Elvis books.

I haven't seen her books and wouldn't care to read them.

I'd rather focus on Elvis as an artist and his music.
