The opening scene of Elvis 1956 is from Aloha From Hawaii.

And of course there were a billion people in 1956: the world population then was 2.8 billion.

And Bubba, you're right on the money,no artist or group with a large body of recorded work can score with EVERY song, that's impossible, but I think that OVERALL the great artists and groups, like Elvis and The Beatles and Rolling Stones and others were on target with most of their material, and that's why these artists are considered great, and I do like some of Paul Mccartney's music too, peace to you.
Thanks Rick. Elvis was the biggest to ever come out of the 50's and The Beatles and Stones were the two biggest out of the 60's. Eagles are probably the biggest out of the 70's.McCartney has had a lot of good tunes but on the other hand he has had some songs that are sappy and not very good.

I'm going to be picky, and say telecast, not broadcast.

"All You Need Is Love" was satellite but only one song?

I thought that was strange.

I have two bootleg DVD's of all The Beatles promo films, live clips.

You would like it because the quality is perfect.

It goes deeper than Anthology and nothing is edited or left out.

Floons are really not all there.

They actually claimed that Elvis had Scatter the chimp on stage.

And they had photos to prove it and criticized Elvis for abuse.

But in reality, it was a stuffed animal that Elvis had on his back.

It was closing night in Las Vegas, September 1973.

This was on some MJ fan web site.

Jacko did not sell 750 million copies.

It was 350 million before he died.

And I know Jacko did not sell 400 million in just over 3 years.

He would be #1 and staying on the charts but he is not.

Agreed . Sony got caught for overhyping history cd sales . They also held on to you are not alone for 3 weeks of AirPlay before releasing it . That's the only reason that is mj last number one . Now because of that a single can only be counted when its sold in stores . In 2007 the Wall Street journal exposed the bs claim of 750 million from mj camp . In all stats except thriller elvis is the king of the charts .

Isn't a broadcast via satellite the same thing as telecast? Myself I like the Stratocaster better than a telecaster.

No.

A broadcast is via radio.

A telecast is via a visual medium.

You can't out a guesstimate: even Wiki needs a proper source.

Fact is, there'll never be accurate viewing figures for Aloha.

Even James Burton had the one billion myth on his Facebook feed today for the 40th anniversary.

That is because Jacko demanded it from Sony.

He was a very difficult person to deal with but got what he wanted.

Hype and actual sales are two different things.

Since Jacko was a compulsive liar and control freak...there you go.

Floons are impressed by his public relations manipulations.

They actually thought a stuffed animal was a real chimpanzee.

That Elvis abused live animals on stage!

And that Michael never used Bubbles and harmed him for entertainment.

I laughed my ass off.

Elvis had Scatter in the sixties.

I respect and understand that . It would have been better to leave the source of the colonel then
