Sure, there's someone out there that may express empathy for her because on the surface she sounds really volatile and mentally unstable, but f'real-f-real...she shot herself in the foot.
STILL don't know why she spazzed like this!
LOLOL!!!
I agree with you and the other poster. I think she was drunk or high on something. What else could explain it? LOL!

Field slave or house slave..who cares..Who'd want to be either is the question? Neither is good.

This is what Malcolm X had to say about the subject matter: The house negro and the field negro.

Absolutely love Malcolm in the historical context but the whole point is to not be a slave in the first place.

A flunky for white folks? Well hell if anyone would recognize that characteristic in another it would be you. Flunky.

<quoted text>Again, I think Rae has some aught with Oprah but just went completely left with how she should've expressed herself.
Do you think Rae is doing this to maybe resuscitate her career? I have a hard time thinking that because, in spite of her not being a household name for quite some time now, I'm sure she knows that coming at Oprah was not a means to get herself some "run".
Rae might be a LITTLE crazy but she ain't stupid...faaar from it.
Well she has a movie coming out and figure maybe people that don't know her may go to see it because they want to know who this Rae is. WE'll see if it works.

But the woman put the "er" on the word. Like it would have never been directed at her in the past. She said she'd never be a "house n" like that was something to be proud of. In the house in the field and slave was a slave and didn't matter at all. It amazes me when these ignorant "want to be better" types say dumb shyt like that.

Right now Rae looks like the Oracle from The Matrix, she needs to sit her ass down and shut up.

<quoted text>Now that's another possibility (her being drunk). Rae seems to have the personality type that could possibly get really effusive and gabby while under the influence.
She may have been or still suffering the effects of a usually drunk or high dad injecting it into the mom while she carried the dim wit. Resulting in a loaf (brain) not quite done.

so, now that your ancestors have been slaves and that the ancestors of most people in the world were slaves at one time another, do you recommend we turn back time to before we were slaves?

<quoted text>It's not what they expected, lol. Whitney seems to never have wanted it. Which is a shame because she was a great singer and good actress. She also could have made a career in the modeling industry but wasn't interested.
I wonder how much of her mother pushing her? Had to do with it, or the famous people in her family? It was like a job or chore for her and what she really was looking for, she didn't know, and of course, never found. Sad.
It was clear that Whit was gifted beyond the average songstress. Her range was BANANAS! There are only about 2-3 artists in her genre of music that even had her pitch and that would be Mariah Carey and Christine Aguilera. Their gifting is something you just don't manufacture, no, that type of sh!t is G-D given. I think Whit's family realized that and they persuaded her to come to terms with that realization until she fully embraced it.

Now, what her family may not have schooled her on was the pitfalls that comes with all of it. I guess they imagined that she'd still remain the sweet, pretty, little church girl that would spend the next 40 years societally unscaved...LOLOL!! NOT!

I hope that's what it was (she had been drinking). I hate to think that she would be talking that foolish off the top...

LOLOLOL!!@ "The Oracle".

XD

And I did hear her vernacular and how she utilized "the N word" and that rose a flag with me too but then I thought that maybe she was INTENTIONALLLY using the way a racist white person would use it to place special emphasis on her point...IDK...but I did peep it.

What's the film she'll be starring in?

Christina most definitely has an amazing voice and range. In fact, she sung a Whitney song at a tribute for her many years ago that I will never forget. In fact Whitney announced to the audience that shed never heard anyone sing her song that well. Mariah though is no powerhouse imo. I do not see the range some speak of with her ...although she does have a beautiful voice I have never been able to put her up there with Whitney in terms of range and talent.
As far as whitney- shes actually said on more than one occasion her mother did not want her in the music industry. She didn't want her singing professionally ...however because her voice was such a gift her mother began to realize she didn't have a choice and because Whitney grew up with music and had talent, she couldn't stop it. However her mother was amazing in that she told her that people would try to make her and break her at the same time. Whitney got in to trouble imo by trying to fit "blackness"...She even came out in an interview and said she didn't want to be another Diana.

She did a reverse Michael..in actuality.

I'm no quite sure I get what you mean by "trying to fit blackness" or a "reverse Michael". I THINK I follow you, but I don't want to draw any premature conclusions...

I think some blacks couldn't really identify with her at first. I don't think she liked that. She then went on to say..after marrying her husband that some wp were mad because she didn't get a Wm and that she didn't want to be Diana. Whereas MJ took measures to separate from blackness..I think she took measures to be seen as black as she could. She couldn't of course reconcile this anymore than MJ could.

I never viewed Whitney as someone who was looking to detach herself from her Blackness. In fact, I never even heard that suggested before. And her dating history especially NEVER suggested something like that because she had always been with bruhvas.

That's my point. Lots of bp were not vibing that hard with Whitney in the beginning ...I remember because I was one of the only bp who listened to "I wanna dance with somebody " and grown bm around me didn't like her at all. I think it bothered her that lots of bp weren't feeling her ...I think she wanted to be recognized for being bw and attached to blackness. Hence her comments about not wanting to be Diana.

Whereas MJ wanted separation from blackness....she was trying hard to be seen as more "black "...which ended just as bad for her as the reverse for MJ. She should have stayed true to herself...just like MJ should have.

I don't think it was Whit's racial pride that off'd her...it more her addiction more than anything.

Whitney didn't have to sellout...she was TOO talented.
