Why do Africans and Asians come to America if they don't want to integrate?

And assimilate? They seem to be the must stuck up to me and all my white friends agree. They segregate themselves into their Asian and African groups on campus, refusing to befriend or get to know people of other races. These aren't immigrants, but first and second generation African and Asian students, so language is definitely not a barrier. Why don't they just go back to Africa and Asia if they want to be xenophobic and prefer to be only around their own kind?

Because that is their choice and who are you to question it? If you moved to an Asian or African country, you would seek out Americans to hang with. That's just the way it is.

How old are you, 12?

This is common sense

BTW, all people from all other countries do the same thing, Russians, Latinos, Arabs, Israelis, Australians, Canadians.

I concur, itÂ’s a dumb question.

There is an important difference between integrating and assimilating. People immigrate for many reasons(money, job, personal freedom, political and social rights, etc, etc) but in some cases, there is no desire to assimilate. They want to keep their culture, traditions, language, religion, etc. There is nothing wrong with it, as long as they respect the laws, and some of their traditional rules don't contradict the laws of the state or human rights.

In some cases, they want to make sure that their children will keep the culture alive- might explain some cases of "segregation". In others is simply about being raised in an area dominated by people of your own group (many immigrants tend to go in areas where their ethnic/racial/religious group is the majority or at least they are in a significant number)-in this case, they might end up associating with those that are familiar.
Immigrants from all over the world do the same(of course, not all, just some of them)- Arabs, Eastern Europeans, Russians, Jewish people, etc

The only way those ungrateful, self-absorbed, third world nomads would go back to Africa and Asia is by kicking and screaming.

Africans don't even like to mingle with black people so I doubt they'll mingle with anyone else. It's African kids at my school that don't even talk to me I feel left out ALL THE TIME. I guess that's just how they are asians too.

because they want to be with their own, My parents are Nigerian but I was born in America, and majority of my friends were not American, most were african(most were Nigerian but I had Ghanian, Eritrean, Ethiopian, Cameroonian, Cape Verdean friends) but I also had Arab, Indian, European and a few Caribbean friends as well but not to many American friends. To answer your question most want to be with people that are their own, share the same thinking and beliefs as them, it is that simple. In my college there were Arab groups, indian groups, oriental Asian groups, African groups(sometimes Caribbeans would be in it), and the white American groups. People stayed with their own, because they feel more comfortable with their own and they can communicate easily with their own that they may not do with other groups. There is nothing wrong with it, they have the right and shouldn't be forced to, so I disagree with your question. Also to correct you integration, almost all immigrants integrate into America, they have no choice when they want to get a job, go to school and etc but Majority of immigrants, especially Arabs, africans, and Asians don't desire to Assimilate. The immigrants that I see easily assimilate are Hispanics and Caribbeans(depending on the country). So there is a big difference between integrate and assimialte, and I feel you are asking about assimilation because almost all immigrant group integrate, it's assimilation that they don't
