I think it will. She's not evil in my opinion. As a Southern white woman who employs African-Americans like she does and who was an Obama supporter in 2008, she has a right to expect support from Rev. Sharpton. And I'm glad he was helpful to her -- because that's part of loyalty to those who've helped your cause. You stand up for your friends even when they f*ck up.<quoted text>
excellento post my friend I have come to realize that Paula Deen, like many southerners, was born and bred in that time period where
is was common to use the N word.
I don't think that it necessarily makes her an evil person and maybe this experience will make her a better person.
However, she is a bigot and she's also a poor business manager. Anyone who allows racist jokes in the work environment, or allows a manager to openly view porn and show it to others, is not a smart boss.
Even worse is how she handled the lawsuit. She's lost an estimated $12+ million in endorsements. But if she'd simply settled the lawsuit with a confidentiality clause (to shut Lisa Jackson up) for maybe $1 million, she'd still be a winner. She'd have $11 million in her pocket over the long haul, and her public reputation would not be in the toilet.
Sometimes racism just makes people DUMB - if they aren't that way already. LOL
