I believe you took my question the wrong way I was trying to bring the point that Black military pilots Do exceptionally well. Being the ones that make it are the best i'm not on here to cause drama I'm saying that if the military hired all pilots the way they hire black pilots. Then maybe we would have less accidents and people getting shot down.

omg,the folks who have just responded to a very simple question are easily the most racist, stupid, moronic, and imbecilic dumbasses the world has ever known.why can't you f*****g idiots just answer the person's question without getting all up in arms about the question?what happened;is it you just don't know the answer?you have nothing better to do?or,are you so pathetic that this is the only outlet you have to display your idiocy?this question, among others is actually a very good question.i've often wondered it myself.just like, why are there hardly any latino, asian pilots in america? why are there so many white police/swat officers?

We have about 80 students each year and not a single black person has expressed an interest in becoming a pilot, which has struck me as odd since most of our students are local. Is there just not an interest in aviation or what in the black community?
.....kneegrows are too stoopid to fly.........and we don't want negrows flying aircraft ffs!- this will only lead to more accidents..........

This is beyond asinine.
Yes, I'm a pilot.
Yes, I'm black.
Yes, I obtained my Pilot's license (Just for the fun of it in Kansas City)
No, I don't make a living flying, I did it because I considered it fun. More importanly, I did it because I had could afford to. I had the financial wherewithal.
Yes, I also fly hot air balloons.
And I'm not even American. I happen to be an African immigrant

I am Black and I am also a pilot. There are two main reasons thatt you don´t see many of us especially in airliners. The first reason is beacause there is a general lack of interrest in the African American community in aviation. I am not saying everyone since my presence attest to the fact that there are Black pilots. I am saying that as a whole the African American Couçommunity just does´nt place a lot of emphysis on aviation which is very sad. The second reason is because the airline industry reallly does not want to hire Black Pilots beyond what is required by law. I am a third genration pilot in my family and my family has been involved in aviation for the past seventy years. The numbers do not lie. The good old boy mentality exist very much in the aviation industry from flight schools to commercial airlines to corporate jets. Its just a culture thatis often ignored by the general public. Blacks, minorities and women are genrally still discriminated against in theairline and aviation industry. One can only guess that the white culture may feel threatened by a large number of blacks in the cockpits across america. The mentallity of the people who built the tower of Bable comes to mind. Well thats my opinon and I am sure there are those who will agree and dissagree with me. Safe flying!

For the same reason that there are so few Negro scientists, because pilots need intelligence.

Nice to meet you, Morris. I'm a black man who never finished getting his license.i haven't been in the left seat in 10 years. I have been an aviation enthusiast since I was a child. I agree with you on the general lack interest in the AA community. That has always puzzled me. I often go to aviation-related events and my son and I are just about the only black folks in attendance. It really telling to go to an air show and not see another black face in that sea of people.

I doesn't surprise me about the employment situation in the industry but I don't expect that to change until we start showing up in greater numbers.

Yet there are countless examples that directly refute your claim....on this very thread even. Sit your bigoted azz in a corner and contemplate how you ruined your life by catching a felony conviction that landed your behind in prison.

I was an aviation mechanic in the USMC, later a co-pilot on Pipers, and always had interest in flying machines. I wanted to fly fighter jets in the military, but my eyesight didn't make the curve. If I could do it all over again, I'd go to college, become an officer and enlist in one of the attack helicopter programs. I LOVE that stuff!!

That would require a LOT of time, schooling, discipline and other training. Although I'm one, I don't see too many young black men with the motivation or determination to endure this path. That's just FACT.

I have watched you make countless insults and derogatory comments concerning minorities but never an intelligent response or comment. From what I can see, you are a broke, unemployed punk living in his mother's basement still suckin' off of her breast milk! A person w/ a job, any job I don't care if its street sweeping, wouldn't spend as much time as you do sitting on the internet hurling racial slurs and insults. Take a hike!
