Even the band had soul.
That beat is nothing but soul.

Janis Joplin is the epitome of soul. As well as Van Morrison. Van Morrison even did duets with Stevie Wonder.
White people back in the day had so much soul.
Im gonna give you a chance to take that bs claim about JJ back....or I'll pass my time in hell fussing with you.
JJ was an awesome artist but "I wish I could find a black female musician with soul like this lady"???....WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU HIGH ON?
Maybe youre just bored and trying to start shit? Its labor day and you dont have to work, go outside and talk to people.

Oh I am well aware. I believe we are over 1/3 the army and about 20% or so across all branches. These are the best of us. And they would make an outstanding AA defense force should the race war ever come. These are men that would mop the floor with the average street or prison tough guy on every single level. If the race war ever came, and I was appointed to a leadership position thefirst order of business would be to use military and ex-GI men and women to neutralize the thug and hootchie mamma threat from within and re-program them.
Second order of business would be to train them how to fight with discipline, not just for the sake trying to be the "man".
You see what irks me the most, is all these "tough" black dudes who cause mayhem to other blacks, all the while living in a country dominated by another group of people. It's baby boy mentality and I will never have respect for it.
Dam Dev this is an awesome post and I agree with you 100%. These dudes killing other blacks left and right and even looking at the real reason why they are in situations they are in.

I would use most of them for foot soldiers and nothing more. Sure there would be a few strategically gifted men in the hood, but most of the mentally advanced people in the hood.. make it out of the hood.

A large margin of blacks were born in the hood and are from the hood and gradually make it out. That's why you have these super intelligent men like myself that have tons of street smarts.

And yes the military trained man/woman would wipe the floor with their "street" counterparts. It would be a no contest.

The mental aspect just isn't there with people in the hood. They would need to be brought up to speed.

I'm speaking of current black female artist. What black female artist currently do you know that has more soul than her? Are there even any black female soul singers still around? I think Indi Arie would be the closest but her music really isn't even that soulful and plus there's rumors that she bleached her skin.

And I'm having a cookout. If you'd like to come over when you get off work you're more than welcome.

And relax lady.. no need to get an attitude.

You can't even show me a black female artist that can top this lady currently.

It's not my fault that by and large you women have spent the last 10 -15 years obsessing over IR and bashing black men and our culture and have lost yourselves and your culture.

Some of the biggest proponents against "black and Soul" music are black women mainly IR black women that want nothing to do with anything black. But I don't see a lot of black women defending their position as a part of the black man's life.

Black men OWE it to black women and children to be informed of the strategical matters of other races and the government in general.

To hear these black men with no military knowledge just thinking that they can "rap" their way into a victory in the event of a race war or governmental take over is ridiculous.

These people don't even know about the latest weaponry, chemical agents, or how to shoot straight for that matter. A group of snipers could set around perimeter around the hood and pick these "thugs" off without even being spotted.

These guys couldn't even set up proper perimeters to protect their areas and watch teams.

Jessie J's cool. But she can't mess with Jennifer Hudson.

And why don't you give props to Jill Scott?

And please name someone who can blow over Ms. Patti (Patti Labelle)

Jennifer Hudson? Are you serious? And Jill Scott is cool.. she's more so "conscious" than soulful . As well as "Common". Those are "conscious' muscians it's very different from soul.

And Patti Labelle is old school as well as whitney. I could name a hundred black women from back in the day that are better than both of the non black females that I mentioned.

I am talking about the current modern day black female. These black women back then 80's/early 90's and back are a completely different breed of women.

These are old school. I'm talking about the current generation of women that you and Bittersweet belong to.

Both of you are beautiful women by the way, you just belong to the modern day black woman that really doesn't have a lot of "soul".

Van Morrison

Laura Nyro
http://www.youtube.com/watch...
And of course Janis Joplin
http://www.youtube.com/watch...
It's a different kind of soul brother, and it's a soul that I respect, but I would be doing a disservice to true soul by equating the two.

I might, just might be able to give Janis Joplin though.

Not sure if you saw my other comment. But Jennifer Hudson and Jill Scott isn't old school.

You have Chrisette Michele, Melanie Fiona, Fantasia and Ledisi.

And New School can't touch Old School. But if New School is lacking soul.

You don't run and listen to Jessie J.

You go back to ole school and listen to Phyllis Hyman or whatever your ole school choices are..........

You're saying that Jessie J, can sing better than Jennifer Hudson?

If that is true. I would say I guess that's a personal choice.

And what I'm also saying to you. If it wasn't for women like Miss Patti, Whitney, Aretha, etc......

There would be no Jessie J's.

I love oldschool black female soul music but that still doesn't change what I said about the current day black woman, it only reinforces it.

Fantasia? Lol.

You're reaching babe. You should encourage your sisters to lose their interest in IR and go back and regain their old titles as the strong soulful exotic women you all used to be.

I completely understand that and agree. I just think it's sad that modern day non black women are embracing the actual spirit and soul of black women more-so than actual black women are.

It's completely tied to IR and the current climate of hatred for anything black that irbw like yourself are involved in.

Most of you would rather focus on Janet's non black husband than her old school music.

This is "The Shirelles"

Jessie J is much closer to embracing this soul than J.Hudson.

But you know what says deep soul for white people? It isn't even that stuff. It is more like this:

The Who - Teenage Wasteland.

Raw, emotion..or "soul". But not a carbon, copy, the real thing.
