I have never understood why the american culture does this. I mean why do people always say Light skinned men are punks and are weak. If being a darker man makes you stronger then why are light skinned men considered weaker and less masculine than white men who are even lighter than them. It just doesn't make sense, who started this dumb shytt, was it white men or dark skinned black men. There is alot of discrimination against light skinned men in hollywood and many light skinned actors have said that light skinned men suffer more discrimnation than any other group of people in Hollywood, but yet people ignore this and focas everthing on dark skinned women when the real victims are light skinned men because there are fewer yella men on tv than asian men and dark women. I also notice that alot of black women say they hate light skinned men and prefer dark men but they would still date a white guy over a light skinned guy. Anybody noticed this?

I am not trying to be rude but are you for real? Most of the soap operas only show light skinned men. As a whole, haven't you noticed that black people are barely shown on TV as it is? When they are on TV, it is usually a light skinned couple, a dark skinned men with a white, asian, or mexican girl, a bi-racial girl(curly hair & hazel eyes), or some sort. The only way for our many shades of black to be seen is by creating our own TV stations & newcasts & media, you feel me? I also have a few women friends who go crazy over light skinned brothas. Most of them are dark skinned women. I have to admit that I prefer dark skinned men & I have dated white men as well. But it is not that I consider light skin men weak or unattractive..I have seen some very sexy yella guys but none of 'em really ever caught my attention.

Well i never really watch soaps. Also i am aware of black people not being as represented as whites, but the fact is that light skinned black men still suffer the most discrimnation in hollywood, most people do not even watch soap operas anyway so it doesn't really matter if there are yella men on there. Also you prooved my point about the average black women prefering white men over light men.

Only blacks that do reverse colorism claim light skin black men are weak, unmusculine, and weaker than white men.If a dark skin black woman hates light skin black men and prefers white men she may have dilemna because her kid maybe light skin.

I can't speak for everyone, but when I would take Kelly Rowland over Beyonce any day of the week. Light skinned women are always hairy, and I like knowing that if my woman misses a waxing appointment, she will not look like Marvin Gaye in the morning. Even the mighty Beyonce starts to look like Sonny Crockett ( Don johnson , not that Irish faeg)if she stays on stage too long

Maybe we should have some sort of brute force test to show that skin tone has nothing to do with strength. LoL. a lot of this goes back to slavery and the house/ field slave thing.

Beyonce is not light skin she's brown skin and rich.Light skin women aren't always hairy.Pebbles and Rosie Perez are light skin and not hairy. You're jealous of Beyonce because you're poor and she's rich.

This is true, but that is where the colorism began

I'm far from broke, and will claim bankruptcy or get pinched for tax evasion many times fewer than she will, guaranteed.

When she first blew up, her 5 o clock shadow was a lot thicker than mine though....

Q: Why does America view Light skinned or Mixed race men as weak?

A: To further separate and divide the intended victims of euro-peon imperialism, whose sole purpose and expressed goal is the of subjugation and enslavement of all highly melanic, indigenous, original human beings in particular and all people of color in general, and because America was originally founded upon, and continues to maintain all of it's operations upon a racial caste system. Cultural or racial stereotyping as a way to incite division between parties is just a means to an end for white racists and cultural imperialists.

Where's your evidence that slave owners said they separate slaves because of skin color? Phyllis Wheatley was a dark skin house slave.House slaves were often mammies, many mammies were dark skin blacks not light skin blacks. The free blacks had colorism and reverse colorism.

Not all or maybe not most free blacks had colorism or reverse colorism, but mostly free blacks had colorism and reverse colorism.
