Four men have been indicted on charges of accusing them of organizing or participating in a drug-trafficking ring that brought $7 million in painkillers from New York to Connecticut, federal officials said.

The FBI and the office of the U.S. Attorney for southern New York say the drug ring, which ran from about 2006 to 2008, was responsible for more than 120,000 tablets of oxycodone circulating illegally in and around Bridgeport.

With a street value of up to $80 per pill, oxycodone can be highly addictive and is often sold on the street as a substitute for heroin and other illegal drugs, the officials said.

The four Connecticut men allegedly involved in the drug-trafficking ring appeared in U.S. District Court in Manhattan this week after being indicted on charges of distribution of oxycodone and conspiracy to distribute oxycodone.

Prosecutors say Raymond Capozziello, 45, of Trumbull and his second-in-command, Marcus Erodici, 43, of Stratford, recruited at least 10 straw buyers to visit a particular New York City doctor for unnecessary oxycodone tablet prescriptions.

Then, the prosecutors say, the straw buyers went to a certain Manhattan pharmacist to fill the prescriptions -- all paid for by Capozziello -- and brought the pills back to Capozziello and Erodici to sell at a profit to drug addicts.

Two other men are charged as alleged straw buyers: Michael Walker, 52, of Oxford, and Alexander Vanghele, 51, of Bridgeport. Prosecutors say Capozziello and Erodici also filled prescriptions themselves to bolster the supply.

Guy Oksenhendler, Capozziello's attorney, said Thursday he could not comment on the case beyond saying that Capozziello is pleading not guilty. Messages seeking comment were left Thursday for attorneys representing Walker, Erodici and Vanghele.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said Thursday that Vanghele had been released on his own recognizance and that Walker and Erodici each were released on $100,000 bond. All three men appeared in U.S. District Court in Manhattan on Tuesday.

Capozziello, who appeared in court Wednesday, remained held on $750,000 bond Thursday.

A hit-and-run driver was arrested after mowing down a crowd of people outside the new Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. on Friday night, police said.

Nine people were injured and hospitalized in the incident, including a 21-month-old infant. One man has critical head trauma.

The driver, Frank Morocho, of The Bronx, has been charged with assault by auto and leaving the scene. Witnesses said they spotted his silver Acura in a nearby Burger King parking lot and called police.

The victims were coming out of the stadium after watching a soccer game -- Mexico and Ecuador played to a draw.

They were struck as they darted across Route 120 at around midnight.

Maybe Frank Morocho is from Arizona.

The two teenager savages extensively researched bomb making, attempted to buy a shotgun and set a June 10 date for the planned attack on Connetquot High School in Bohemia, Suffolk County police Sgt. Bill Doherty said. Evidence from the 16-year-old girl's computer and cell phone showed they'd searched bomb-making and explosives websites, and exchanged text messages in which they discussed plans to buy firearms and kill people, police said. Both were arrested and charged as adults with conspiracy.

The boy pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Friday, while his girlfriend entered a not-guilty plea last week.

Each could face up to a year in jail if convicted. Authorities uncovered the plan after the boy's social worker alerted them last month that the two might be planning an attack, Doherty said.

The warning followed what police believe was a public proclamation of the boy's venom for his former classmates. After a car accident that led to the death of two students earlier this year, someone using the 17-year-old's name left messages on a Facebook memorial page expressing his satisfaction.``He apparently has quite a bit of hatred for this class in general,'' Doherty said. Both teenagers tried to buy a shotgun but were turned away because neither was 18, so they hatched a plan to return on his June 8 birthday to buy one shotgun, then come back the following day for another.

They planned to enter the school and start shooting on June 10, Doherty said.

The boy left Connetquot High School and graduated from a special-education program where he met the girl, who is still a student. She was released without bail; the boy will be held in jail until his court date June 8. Calls to the Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County, which is representing them, went unanswered Friday night.

Calls to phone numbers listed under the teenagers' addresses yielded no response. A woman reached by phone who identified herself as the girl's grandmother declined to give her name.

A procurement officer for PATH trains was supposed to be purchasing mundane items such as a new public-address system -- instead, he used the dough to buy himself big-screen TVs and remote-controlled toy racing cars and helicopters, sources said yesterday.

Darshanand Sitaram, a $75,000-a-year engineer assigned to the PATH Power Signaling and Communication Division, helped himself to the estimated $100,000 in Port Authority money through a sophisticated embezzlement scheme, the sources said.

He used his knowledge of the system to bypass the internal vetting procedures for about three years, submitting legitimate-looking invoices for items PATH might need, according to the sources.

But the Queens man, 30, was really using the doctored invoices to buy expensive goodies for himself, the sources said.

The head of a Nevada company that manages business travel for major corporations admitted Wednesday she booked bogus trips to net herself $17 million -- money prosecutors say she spent on such far-flung expenses as a Florida apartment and a stake in a California sandwich shop chain.

Tri-Pen Management Corp. President Victoria Wofford pleaded guilty in a Manhattan court to grand larceny. She briefly answered a judge's questions as she acknowledged she got American Express to pay her for sham travel she booked for a client for more than three years.

Wofford "committed multimillion-dollar fraud in a systematic fashion," Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. said in a statement.

In Wofford's capacity as a corporate travel agent, she charged the phony trips to dormant American Express accounts in the client's name, then pocketed the money when the credit card giant paid her as the travel vendor, prosecutors said. To keep the scheme going, Wofford posed as one of her client's employees to authorize and answer questions about the expenses, they said.

Most of the proceeds went to developing some travel software, but Wofford also gave her husband $2.4 million to invest in a California-based submarine-sandwich chain and bought a $475,000 apartment in St. Petersburg, Fla., prosecutors said. There was no indication her husband knew about the travel scam, they said.

Wofford ultimately ran up $35 million in bills and various fees, a fraud that went unexplored for years because it was a fraction of the client's total travel bills, prosecutors said.

The American Express Co. is looking into the matter, spokeswoman Molly Faust said.

Prosecutors and American Express declined to identify which Tri-Pen client's accounts Wofford used. Wofford's lawyer declined to comment outside court.

Tri-Pen, based in Carson City, Nev., wasn't named in the criminal case, and Executive Vice President E.J. Martinez said Wednesday she knew nothing about it. She and Wofford co-founded the company.

Tri-Pen books travel, negotiates discounts and provides other travel-related services. As of 2004, it made $2.65 million a year in revenue from clients that spent as much as $30 million a year on travel, according to the Westchester County Business Journal.

The company positions itself as a money-saver, saying on its website that the average client shaves 15 to 30 percent from its travel spending.

Wofford, 53, of Manhattan, faces at least a year and as many as 25 years in prison. She's being allowed to work on repaying the money before her sentence is decided.

Thirty-four alleged members and associates of the
New York-based Lucchese crime family, including two high-ranking leaders, have been indicted in New Jersey.
The indictment announced Friday by New Jersey Attorney General Paula Dow includes first-degree charges of racketeering, conspiracy and money laundering.
The indictments stem from an investigation into an illegal gambling operation that handled billions of dollars in wagers, primarily on sporting events, and relied on extortion and violence to collect debts, authorities said.
It also alleges a former state corrections officer and a high-ranking member of the Nine Trey Gangsters set of the Bloods worked with the Lucchese crime family to smuggle drugs and prepaid cell phones into East Jersey State Prison.
``The Lucchese crime family allegedly employed sophisticated measures such as electronic record-keeping and offshore wire rooms designed to thwart detection of their illegal gambling activities by law enforcement,'' Dow said.``I'm proud to say that their innovations did not stop our investigators from infiltrating their criminal enterprise and obtaining evidence.
Dow and Stephen J. Taylor, director of the state's criminal justice division, said the ``evolving alliance'' between mobsters and street gangs was ``troubling,'' and that law enforcement agencies have been closely monitoring it.
``We will continue to fulfill our mission of fighting organized crime, whether it takes the form of traditional organized crime or street gangs,'' Taylor said.``We will remain vigilant and aggressive on both fronts.''
Among those named in the indictment are Joseph DiNapoli of Scarsdale, N.Y., and Matthew Madonna of Seldon, N.Y., both 74 and alleged members of the Lucchese crime family's three-man ruling panel.
Also named were Ralph V. Perna, 64, of East Hanover, and 44-year-old Nicodemo Scarfo Jr. of Ventnor. Perna allegedly became top capo of the New Jersey faction of the family when Scarfo was deposed in 2007.
Scarfo was arrested Friday in Egg Harbor Township, just hours after a warrant was issued for his arrest. Bail had not yet been set for him or any other suspects, authorities said.
Each of the first-degree charges of racketeering, conspiracy and money laundering carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in state prison. In addition to those charges DiNapoli, Madonna and Perna were charged with being leaders of organized crime, a second-degree offense.
It is alleged that DiNapoli and Madonna controlled the crime family's gambling operations and other criminal activities from New York, while both Perna and Scarfo are alleged to have overseen the Lucchese crime family's operations in New Jersey.
Also indicted were Perna's three sons, Joseph M. Perna, 40, of Wyckoff, John G. Perna, 32, of West Caldwell, and Ralph M. Perna,
38, of West Caldwell. Prosecutors say the three, led by Joseph Perna, allegedly managed day-to-day gambling operations under their father's oversight.

More of the, "Big black guy did it to me" nonsense by a two bit, racist lowlife trying to dodge retribution for his own crime.
Remember, Charles Stuart?
Susan Smith?
Ashley Todd?
And the woman who stole her co-worker's identity, stole a rented car, drove to Disney Land in Florida with her daughter, then said she was carjacked and kidnapped by a "6'4" Big Black Guy"?
All of them were deemed liars when their storey fell apart after questioning by police.
All were racist lowlifes who put the blame on fictitious black men who did not exist.
When will these people learn that no one is falling for that line of crap anymore, we're in the 21st century not 1950's America during a time when if you wanted to beat a charge, all you had to say was a black did it and it was believable.

Oscar Sandino, a 13-year-veteran, was arrested Tuesday on misdemeanor charges he violated the civil rights of at least three unidentified women through sexual misconduct.

The original accusation stemmed from the February 2008 arrest of a drug suspect at a Queens apartment. Prosecutors allege that while still at the home, Sandino ordered the suspect's girlfriend to take off her clothes.

Once at the 110th Precinct stationhouse, Sardino told the woman she would be jailed and lose custody of her children, court papers say. He also said "would prevent those things from happening if she had sex with him,'' they add.

The detective followed the woman into a precinct restroom where he forced to perform a sex act, the papers say. She was released the next day and later reported the incident to the NYPD, which pulled Sandino off active duty and launched an internal investigation.

The investigation found that in 2006, Sandino victimized another woman by telling her he could help her cousin avoid a long prison sentence if she had sex with him, prosecutors say. She eventually agreed to meet him at a private location in Queens.

The third incident occurred in September 2009 while Sandino was reassigned to booking suspects in Brooklyn, prosecutors say. The detective took a woman arrested for disorderly conduct into a back room, where he touched himself and had her pull up her shirt, they say.

Sandino, 37, was to appear later Tuesday in federal court in Brooklyn. The name of his lawyer was not immediately available.

If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison.

On paper, Adam Wheeler had undeniably strong credentials to get into Harvard: a perfect SAT score, straight A's at a prestigious prep school and glowing recommendations from four professors at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

While at Harvard, Wheeler seemed a shoo-in for a Rhodes or Fulbright scholarship. His applications included his Harvard transcript, which also featured all A's, as well as a list of books he had co-written, courses he had taught and lectures he had given.

But authorities say it was all a big con.

In fact, Wheeler had never attended the exclusive Phillips Academy prep school in Andover or MIT. And his academic record at Harvard was far less dazzling than he claimed. Instead of straight A's, Wheeler had received some A's, a few B's and a D. His SAT scores were also much less impressive: 1160 and 1220, not the perfect 1600 he had claimed, according to court documents.

Wheeler, 23, of Milton, Del., was ordered held on $5,000 bail Tuesday after pleading not guilty to 20 counts of larceny, identity fraud and other charges. If he posts bail, he must stay away from Harvard and the other academic institutions involved in his alleged scheme, surrender his passport and remain in Massachusetts, a Middlesex Superior Court judge said.

Wheeler was tossed from Harvard last fall after he tried to get the school's endorsement for Rhodes and Fulbright scholarships, and a professor reviewing his applications found evidence he had plagiarized from another professor, prosecutors say. Wheeler's parents gave him up to a Yale official who called to ask about their son's transfer application.

Prosecutor John Verner said in court Tuesday that Wheeler essentially stole $45,000 in financial aid, scholarship money and academic awards from Harvard.

"This defendant's actions cheated those who competed honestly and fairly for admissions and for the scholarships that this defendant fraudulently obtained," said Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone.

Wheeler, an English major who would have graduated from Harvard this spring, tried to transfer to Yale or Brown after he got caught at Harvard, Leone said, again by falsifying his achievements and recommendations.

In his applications, Wheeler said he was employed by McLean Hospital, a psychiatric facility affiliated with Harvard, even though he was not. His transfer application included faked recommendations from an employee at the hospital and from his former Harvard dean, Leone said.

Yale was tipped off by Wheeler's parents, Verner said. A Yale official called the Wheeler home to ask about his application, and one told the official that the application wasn't truthful and their son had been thrown out of Harvard.

Wheeler's parents refused to comment outside of court Tuesday.

His lawyer, Steven Sussman, said his client "will have his day in court and that day is not today."

Sussman said Wheeler has no prior criminal record. He would not discuss the charges against Wheeler.

Harvard said in a statement it could not discuss individual cases because of federal privacy laws and referred all questions to the district attorney's office.

Prosecutors said Wheeler actually graduated from Caesar Rodney High School, a public school in Kent County, Del., in 2005. He attended Bowdoin College in Maine from 2005-07, but was suspended for academic dishonesty, according to court records.

In court documents, prosecutors said that at the time Wheeler was told he would be suspended from Bowdoin, he was completing his application to transfer to Harvard. But authorities say that instead of applying as a suspended sophomore from Bowdoin, he said he was a straight-A student with a 1600 SAT.

A WHITE bank robber fooled cops with an elaborate Hollywood special
effects mask that disguised him as a black man.

Police claim Conrad Zdzierak, 30, used the £450 silicon mask in an
audacious string of six bank robberies.
Five of the raids took place on the same day, April 9.

Cops in Springdale, Ohio, released CCTV footage from the banks believing
they were searching for an African-American male.

But after a tip-off, officers found Zdzierak staying at a nearby hotel.

The interior of his Volvo was splattered in red dye from an exploding ink
pack taken from a bank during one of the hauls, police said.

Officers also discovered the sophisticated mask Zdzierak is suspected of
using in the robberies.

Lieutenant Michael Mathis admitted police were fooled by the disguise and
said he had never seen anything like it.

He said: "The suspect seen in the surveillance photographs and that we
were looking for, we believed to be an African-American male.

"The suspect was actually a white male who was wearing an elaborate

Zdzierak has been charged with the six robberies and is currently being

pack taken from a bank during one of the hauls, police said.
Officers also discovered the sophisticated mask Zdzierak is suspected of
using in the robberies.
Lieutenant Michael Mathis admitted police were fooled by the disguise and
said he had never seen anything like it.
He said: "The suspect seen in the surveillance photographs and that we
were looking for, we believed to be an African-American male.
"The suspect was actually a white male who was wearing an elaborate
disguise."
Zdzierak has been charged with the six robberies and is currently being
held on a $ 3million bond.
Wow!
