I refuse to buy hair from the koreans. In highschool I had a pure blooded african friend (ethiopian) that looked like she was mixed with asian and had very pretty hair. The koreans hired her and she used to pretend that her real hair was a weave. It was so sad... women would buy the crappy weaving hair cause they thought that was what she used. Of course other black folks were never allowed near the register... Have you guys noticed that the PM of Ethiopia also looks like he is half asian. I love it when he goes to china and kisses their butts. By the way I am also habesha.

This are my tips for hair growth and long hair:pure virgin aleo , aviod anything that has mineral oil in it. DC at least once a week, virgin palm oil or coconut oil. Butter treatments are awesome.

You're right! Most of the time it is Asian and Indian hair that is sold for wigs and weaves. Often hair sold as European texture hair is really Indian hair that has been chemically treated to make it softer with more body. Although they do sell real European hair, only thing is it is outrageously expensive. A human hair wig made of real European hair can cost thousands of dollars. Most often it is Russian

hair. There are a lot of poor women living in Russia who will sell their long hair for money, and it is considered high grade, but there is not nearly as much of it on the market as Asian or Indian hair. This is why most often it is celebrities that wear it. I heard Beyonce has a vast collection of Russian lace fronts.
http://www.russianhair.net/
Why would Bey wear russian lace fronts. The texture would be a bit off on her. By the way Lace fronts are wonderful for women who want to grow out their hair. It will allow them to cut off the chemically damaged hair and wear it natural under the wig. By the way there is a company that will start making LACE WIGS in AFRICA. A large portion is supposed to go towards helping those communities .

BTW I'll do some advertisements for black owned hair stores in my area here.

(Gotta get their permission, but several at my job and in my neighborhood want to know where black owned hair care stores are...)
I'm compiling a list to give to people I know who want to support black businesses...
Got nothing against Koreans, simply supporting my own people.

And yeah...natural hair rocks...

Thanks man. I've been researching black owned hair stores in my area and they've been doing quite well. They merely need more people to know about them so I'm trying to give them some more airtime....LOL!

Beyonce simply does not like to wear Yaki style lacefronts. She prefers the sleeker variety. And believe it or not. Even though you might be inclined to think European hair has to be the opposite texture of African hair, that is really not the case. Asian hair is probably the most opposite texture-wise, since it is stick straight, regardless of it's black color. Whereas European hair can range from straight, to wavy to curly. Bey likes to wear all three textures, and if you have noticed, she prefers a golden brown shade, not unlike the picture shown below of the virgin Russian hair (un-color treated) Hit the link then scroll down, and you should notice how the hair shown is very much like her hair.

Anyhow, she probably also prefers Russian hair because it is the most expensive, and she can afford it.

Control the industries that we support the most, why make others rich when we can enrich our own?

why is there so much racism in this arguement.
i mean if its on business its on business.
theres no need to bring out such things as houses and boxes and whos richer.it just makes you sound more desperate. If people are going to view and share thier own opinions then they can do it without critisizing others. And that goes for african americans and koreans.I respect the fact that you defend koreans but theres no need to be so harsh about it because then you would just be representing the country in that way. and seriously i really dont understand that "tokyo doku" girl.i mean have you seen the persons house? unless you have theres no need to say she lives in a box.Be proud of your race. and dont look down on others due to the face of the color of thier skin.

Seriously, black people have bigger problems to deal with. And what do you mean dominate? Can I say that black people dominate the NBA so we should intentionally reduce the number of blacks in the NBA?
Mother Africa wrote:
Black people we really need to wakeup and deal w/ this situation! Yesterday, I was listening to the Michael Baisden show and he had this white guy on who has done a documentary on the black hair industry! According to Mr. Aren, the Koreans are dominating the black hair industry which includes the distribution on black hair products i.e. wigs and weaves etc. The black hair industry is over a billion dollar business and the Koreans have 80% of the distribution of black hair products on lock down! What was interesting to me is how he said the Korean were able to dominate this market over black distributors.
First off, he said that immigrants (Korean, Vietnamese etc.) are allowed by our gov't to not pay taxes for five years when they get over here! I've always heard this but wasn't sure if that was true or not; now I know! But the kicker is that our gov't has helped the Koreans financially to be able to corner this market! I will post the link to the video and the link will show how you can buy the dvd at the end of my statements!
Mr. Arens interviews several AA about what's going on and how we can take back control of an industry that we (AA's) spend billions of dollars on! A black woman who is a manufacturer of black hair products of curling irons, stove heaters etc (Kizure) tells what tactics the Koreans use to take over the black hair industry!
She says that the Koreans are duplicating and manufacturing curling irons etc. and telling her that there's not a demand for her products or that her products are inferior. She's been in business for thirty year!
Also, the Koreans will not sell to black hair suppliers within a certain radius yet Korean black hair suppliers are just about on every corner in urban areas and sell to the other Koreans thus breaking their conditions to help other Koreans thus driving out black-owned suppliers. Either Essence or Ebony has articles on this very issue for their May issue (I'll get it tomorrow)!
Brothers and sisters, we have to take back control of this industry and b/c OUR dollars are going to a race of people who don't like us, respect us and are making billions off of us and this money needs to stay in black hands to create jobs! Remember WE ARE the black hair industry! Please, find the video of the black woman who owns a black manufacturing company; she's really adamant about why we need to takeback this industry and she will explain how the Koreans are taking over this industry! This is very important and we have to find ways to stop this! Peace + Blessings

Worried about your dollars going to people who don't like you? well b*tch about paying tax then.=) How about those clothes you wear? lol.
My mother owns her own hair salon, she doesn't do hair but she does own the salon, the black women who get Perms then weave on the same day they get charged about $3,300 for it. Mainly because it's an upper class salon and the weave/perms are better "quality".
My mom is bi-racial though but my father is Korean if that counts, lol.
It's not Korean peoples fault they jumped on the weave making train before anyone else, lol. Don't expect Black people to just wake up and say "AYE! we need to be buildin our own shit homes, deeze krns be jakin our dough" lol...Progress will never be made over the computer.=D
Make that money Koreans!^.^ lol
your mother is not Biracial both of your parents are Asian

Lets be honest with ourselves, now. We've known this for a long time now. Asians moving in and selling to black people. What has happened is the fact that we have started to wake up,now. I have made the concious effort to buy from black owned stores, only in addition to examining the ethinic background of the company brand and logo.
This is what will really make a differnece in the end.

koreans are dominating, and will cotinue to do so. i don't know why black people never seem to want to support their own. it's sad but true. self-hating black women will continue putting that phony crap on their heads, throwing away money when they could just learn to care for their OWN hair and wear it naturally.i don't get it.(shaking my head)

There are more photos of Russian hair at http://www.manedepot.com/virgin-russian-hair/ which look like what she wears. She can afford it and whoever does her hair does a good job of matching.

I agree we should buy from OUR OWN BLACK owned businesses because Koreans are rude, disrespectful and think all black people are beneith them and so they treat us as such and will continue to do so until they get some competition from black people and learn that we CAN stand on our own two feet!

Yes this is TRUE but...THERE'S NOT MANY BLACK owned and operated businesses for blacks to buy from..for example..I live in a predominately WHITE state, and there's not many blacks out here, let alone black owned businesses! So for people like ME, I HAVE to go to Korean owned businesses because that's ALL THERE IS!

Blacks should have BEEN had opened up their own businesses, and started catering to their own people years ago! You don't wait until somebody else moves into the neighborhood and then complain...you make sure they don move in IN the FIRST damn place!
