It seems like when it comes to black history we are told to just forget about it and move on, yet we are told to always remember the Holocaust and never forget 9/11.

They've been running that con-game for years, next they tell you that, tell them, why dont you forget your founding fathers, watch em get mad. All strong people emphasise their history, culture, tradition. Thats like me asking you to forget about grand parents, thats dis-respectful..........

Since you're obviously too dumb to figure this out I'm going to explain it as simply as possible for you:

Not everyone involved in the Holocaust and 911 are dead yet, like everyone involved in slavery is.

Dude anything that involves the horrible history black have had to endure at the hands of whites, America just says to forget about it and move on.

Segregation folks are still alive, but blacks are told to stop living in the past since that was 50 years ago, but we must always remember the Jews because of the holocaust. Just face it, America doesnt give a crap about black folks, other than election time to get votes and after they are in office they go back to not caring.

Well for one 9/11 happened just one decade ago and more people now believe it was an inside job. I say we should keep discussing 9/11until we get to the bottom of it.

People who think in reality all know it was a inside job, since a plane cant just disappear into nothing like it did at the pentagon and PA.

Would be the purpose of remembering slavery, honestly? Stirring up hatred? You guys can't seem to reason right and blame the whole white race when only a few were involved. Besides slavery is something that has been practiced around the world, everyone was a slave at one time or another. But most of you ignramuses believe that Blacks were the only slaves ever, and that White Americans were the only slave masters.

We have to live together in this ocuntry. Stirring up hatred is not what we want.

Not stirring up hate but pointing out when it comes to black history we are told to forget about it, yet we should always remember the holocaust.

As a black person, I think we should move on, but at the same time move on from the holocaust, pearl harbor as well and other past wars. Why should we never forget 9/11, pearl harbor, holocaust, yet forget about slavery when many died as well.

And many black folks will never move on because much of the racism from the past still exists today in other forms.

-Turning down people for jobs based on their name
-Turning down people for jobs based on what color was check in a box
-Profiling all blacks over what a few minority of them do crime wise
-Placing blacks into projects where they can kill each other off and flood their streets with drugs
-Segregation that still exists, just not as openly as in the 60's

With all that listed it just shows not much has changed over the years, but they have just turned into another form.

Remembering 9/11 and Pearl Harbor is to foment feelings of solidairty; that when the shoit hits the fan, we must all come together as one and be prepared to make brave sacrifices etc.

The holocaust.. I guess is to remind us of the horrors and atrocities that bigotry and hatred can lead us to.

But slavery is so far in the past..

There is always going to be some bias no matter what race you are, someone might not like you because you are a redneck etc

But the things you mention are not the norm everywhere. We have quotas set in place, affirmative action. There is a lot incentive everywhere to promote diversity. And we see Blacks in just about every profession now, doctors, lawyers, politicians, governors etc. Many live in mddle class and upscale neighborhoods even here in Houston. So It can't be as bad as you are claiming. Sometimes you just got to try harder.

Slavery may be far in the past, but all the after effects of it are still present with all the prejudice towards balcks that still exists.

If blacks were not being turned down for jobs over hair styles, names, or credit scores because white America thinks the corporate world must look like them with straight long hair, things could move forward. I just used the hair example, because I know some black women that were turned down for jobs for going natural, so according to corporate America, so must have straight pressed hair.

Black folks didnt have the problem, it was white folks who had the problem simply because of the color of blacks skin and treated them like sheeet that caused blacks to have the problem.

White move out of a neighborhood simply not to live around blacks. I have seen it with my own eyes as I watched them move out of my middle class neighborhood just to move 1 county over and it wast any hod black folks in my neighborhood.

As long as the examples im listing still continues to exist, the race problem will never go away. Just look at alot of comments from white on internet forums and they are the same derogatory comments that were made 40-50yrs ago, so the hate is still in their hearts.

People say that when you all move in neighborhoods you all tend to tear shoit up.

Now you got to tell me, is that generally true or not?

True, but that applies to the 20% ghetto black folks, not the middle and upper class blacks (AND YES UPPER CLASS BLACK ACTUALLY DO EXIST).

I live in a middle class townhome communities and the lil ghetto kids are trying there best to tear it down.
