Back in the time of pirates an mn was allowed to peirce his left ear once he cross the equator,In the bible the master was allowed to peirce a slave after he worked off his time but for some reason wanted to stay on,Now the only reason I can seewhy a man would peirce his ear these isthat his femanine side is overriding his masculinity or he is trying to be like mother,Only a weak man would look femenine because his woman thinks he look sexy as a punk.or homosexual.

Lol some of you peoples' ignorance is mind numbing lol. All it means for a guy to have both ears pierced is that he wanted to get both ears pierced. I am as strait as you can get and love my very Christian girlfriend very much . If you think it means anything else then I guess you will just have to deal with the fact that some people like myself do things like this because we simply want to and could not give two flying fucks about fads or what anyone else thinks of them.

how old are you?
.
if you are 18. you are considered to be in most ways a adult. you might want to dig up the history I did on piercings. and print it out for your mother. and highlight the parts of where it was males who first had their ears pierced. not the females.
.
I went thru the same problem on other areas with my father. even as a adult. like clothing, tats, gender role(chores, rights, etc...).
.
also, as a parent. I will let you know that I before becoming a parent would not act like mine. that I thought that I would give my kid all the freedoms I was restricted from. some I have relaxed on. others.....well, I have become my parents in some ways. never thought I would. many of us have become our parents. scary thought I admit.
.
but then many parents also fear for their kids. as well as we have come to realize that other folks do judge us on how our kids are like. alot of us, we don't want our kids bullied, or for the kid to be the bully.
.
and it is possible your mom is worried about not only her own rep by others. be they relatives, friends, folks on the street. but how you will be treated by the same folks as well.

I have two small studs. I am bi but did not get two studs to advertise this. I just think it looks better. I already look fem anyway.. it's just the way things are. I did not ask to be this way. If you think I look dumb or silly, it's your business. other people do things that I don't "get" but it is their choice and I respect that. I keep my opinions to myself regarding fashion and clothing. Remember, it used to be that women weren't supposed to wear pants or hold a job. Those things were "only" for men.
To the OP I think that these days the old meanings have faded into obscurity. Just look at the posts here. I have seen some very handsome very masculine and NOT GAY men who have diamond studs and look great.

many things we think are feminine. were originally for guys only. like pierced ears. certain clothing, etc...
.
to say that earrings on a guy is gay. is to ignore the history of the subject at hand.

A man wearing any earrings at all is a man who makes poor life choices and is trying to make up for poor self-esteem. Also, a peter-puffer.

how about you try to study things at times. it might surprise you on what you find.
.
like earrings and piercings. if you had studied history. you would have found out that it was only males who had them. same goes for tattoos in many areas.
.
they before becoming a sign of wealth and power. were more religious based in nature. as a way of protecting the male who had such items from the spirit world. and the main males who wore such stuff were warriors. warriors who were important to the group of folks in order to stay alive.
.
women were not considered as important enough to be able to wear them back then. only the males were. since it was the males in ancient times that hunted. and thus needed the 'protection' from spirits that could attack him. maybe in revenge for taking that animal's life.
.
nowadays in areas of highly developed technological world. they serve no purpose except as ornamentation. but there are areas of the world where ancient ways still hold sway over some folks.
.'
if those past warriors could hear you on the subject. they would be taking offense at you attacking not only them. but their religious beliefs as well.

But none of that changes the fact that earrings and tattoos are nasty and ugly and mainly worn because low self-esteem.

the only things that have changed about both earrings and tattoos
.
is how the markings/art are used as in designs for tattoos.
.
and how society has changed in their views about both earrings and tattoos.
.
thing about tattoos. is that they can also be beautiful as in a tasteful lil one. to mark a special memory in one's life. or to cover up a scar like from having a breast chopped off to save one's life.
.
just like earrings, tattoos used to only be for warriors. besides the 'protection' they gave to the warrior. they marked the person as someone important.

A peircing isnt what makes a man gay, its having sex with another man. So I think the right left thing is basically judging a book by its cover, and why would you post a question on a website anyways, who cares what other people think, YOLO
