Gentlemen, you have my best regards. You have exceeded expectations for this thread. you created a much-needed and important thread for black men. Then you proceeded to have thoughtful discussions on topics that are relevant to the lives of millions of black men. And through it all, you guys ignored and disregarded the trolls and the women who came to the thread with malicious intent of throwing you off your game.
You are real men. You are a stand-up bunch of guys and males of the highest quality. My hats off to you. You stuck with your program and came through like real champs. If only other black men had the same level of support for our interests as a group, we would easily overcome all the problems that face us in america and around the world.
Thanks

Zab had ammple opportunity to take control but he waited too long to turn up! But I will say that did a few things right...he nullified the jab...didn't stand directly in front of Danny (we all know that's suicide fighting a Philly fighter)...and Zab wouldn't allow Danny to load up the right hook. These are all
factors that got him past round 4 where normally Zab gets trashed at, and these are the factors that pretty much had Zab on top the last 3-4 rounds of the fight.
The average dude would be well into retirement by now. Zab on the other hand, in spite of his last 3 losses is far from retirement...just MY opinion.
What do you make of Amir Khan's performance last night?
How about Sergio Martinez?
sorry, man...Didn't watch Khan's fight. I read about it. He got dropped again and it was a tough fight for him.

To me, martinez looks finished. He lost that fight by about 2 to 3 points on my card. Can't believe they rank him in the top 10 pfp. Martinez has been avoiding erislandy lara too....lara would take him to school like rigondeaux did donaire.

The arroela -stiverne fight was real good too. Stiverne dropped him with a wicked shot...then stiverned beat arreola bloody for the rest of the night.

Peter Quillen looked good too.

Some real good fights. I was most disappointed in zab, but it was great to see stiverne come up.

I was disappointed with the Zab fight too. Now don't get me wrong, Zab's not a disappointment per se'. It would be MORE ofa let down seeing hime retire. I think the game still needs him, its just I hate seeing him lose after airing it out as hard as he did. But what can I say...Philly catz know how to hold they hands...LOLOL!!!

Yeah, Amir bit the canvas too. But when he gets in trouble, he's one of the only ones that fights his way out. Amir doesn't run. He doesn't tie his opponent up. When he gets ROCKED, Amir get to throwin' dem things back! I have a ton of respect for Amir. He reps both Pakastani's & Brits WELL!

What makes Sergio Martinez is that he's not really a boxer to the core like a lot of his peers. While a lot of boxers now have been boxing since they were 5-6 years old. Martinez started at age TWENTY. And he's well into his 30's now. He knows how to recover from big shots. He's fought excessively taller larger an unorthodoxed fighters and still gave up that WORK. In my opinion, Sergio is the truth.

Peter Quillen is THE FUTURE too!

Yeah, Martinez has done unbelievable for a guy who started fighting so late. I'm still not sold on khan though...he has the fast hands but defensively, he's got some problems. I like adrien broner...that's a bad boy. All the talent in the world. For a minute I was high on andre ward, but lately I don't see the ability I once thought he had. Timothy Bradley is a great young fighter too...Just hope he can keep his mind on boxing and avoid all the distractions. He could be the next great champ. The cubans like rigondeaux, gamboa and lara, who I think bring incredible talent. Isn't quillen cuband too? Then of course floyd is the idol...but my fav fighter of all time was RJJ.

Yeah, Roy is immortal!

Adrien Broner IS a bad dude!!! He reminds me of Floyd...A LOT.

Why aren't you convinced of Andre Ward?

Hey did you see Bernard Hopkins telling Andre Ward that he'd NEVER fight him? B-Hop said that they don't have enough money to pay him to fight Ward...LOLOL!!! It would be a great fight though!!! Bernard would give him MUCH WORK.

It is not like im pro black anyway so I shouldn't be stressing out about these types of things, if I see these types of people I will just go out of my way to avoid them just like I did in high school. I will just worry about the few blacks that are like me and the ones I actually care about.

Don't get me wrong...I think ward is a very good fighter. In fact, I would rank him with the top three pound for pound next to floyd and broner. But I used to think ward had the "complete package" of speed, skills and power...like floyd or roy jones jr or sugar shane mosley in his prime. the skill and speed is there, but to me, he's lacking that explosiveness that makes a real special fighter. people used to criticize sweet pea whitaker for not having power...but pea had snap...i seen him knock dudes clean out. Most of ward's fights go the distance...to me, if he had fought dawson at light heavyweight, it woulda been a totally different fight, because dawson has to work to stay at 175, much less drain himself to get down to 168. Hopkins would give him a good fight, because ward couldn't hurt bernard and bernard is a master counterpuncher too.

B-Hop is the best in the biz at the counter attack...him and Sergio.

As for Chad and Ward...Chad CALLED HIM OUT. So being that Chad made that type of initiation knowing the strain of having to get down to that weight and all that came with it, he pretty much did that to himself. I feel that even if Andre came up, he still would've outclassed him. hell, Bernard was beatin' him (Chad), until Chad body-slammed him. SMH

Ward may not be Sweet P or even Bronner, but he's solid. He steps into the arena with the intent to handle business and he does.

chad was lookin for a big money fight...lookin to cash in while he still can. he gambled with the weight loss and it left him weak. the thing is, it's easier for fighters to deal with a weight gain than with a weight loss. look at roy jones jr and chris byrd and other fighters who tried to go DOWN in weight. it affects their conditioning a lot. but if you look at the dawson-hopkins rematch, chad won that one going away. bernard was never really in that fight after the 6th round. ward-dawson would have been a far more competitive fight at light heavy.

Agree with you that ward is a solid pro. like i said, i rank him in the top 3 pfp. but i heard that mayweather-ward is in the works, assuming floyd takes care of guerrero and canelo. i would have to pick floyd to win that one, even at a significant weight disadvantage.

So, who's it gonna be on american idol this year? To me, amber is the most talented one of the bunch. But candace is a lot more consistent and seems to give more of herself to her performance. Amber makes it look too easy, but she has one of the best voices I ever heard.

Why do BM always lie about being Sick to not work?

I was talking to a few freinds and telling them that many Black men always say their "Sick or Fake sickness" to stay out of work or live off women. These days their mainly White women because Black women don't fall for the "Blatant lies".

I'm not saying all Black men do this but when I talk to several people they also said how Black men will create "Cancer Stories" about their GF' or Wives" in order to take time off work. Some even lost their jobs when the company called to check with their wives!

Regardless when a number of people say it; it must be a "common Problem". I remember this IR BM at my job said his White wife had cervical Cancer than skin cancer 3 times only to find out from his White wife she had nothing!

Another IR BM just stayed out of work and had so many stories about being sick and he finally found another White woman to live off so he didn't have to work!

I met another Black man in another Deptment and he did the samething he kept saying he was sick, but when I went out I saw him laughing and talking with White woman at a few Happy Hours eventually he left the job and he lives off a white woman!

What is wrong with Black men? Why are so many Black men LOSERS and IMPOTENT when it comes to being "REal men"?

Its sad!

Even younger Black women point to what Old Black men do and date/marrying White men rather than to deal with Black males. They look at older Black men and say their just as sorry as the younger Black males!

This is so true! lmao

Floyd & Ward would be a WAR! What would give Ward the advantage is that he WILL give some punishment to Floyd...a degree of punishment that Floyd is not accustomed to. That will definitely be a factor.

Secondly, Floyd knows how to get in the heads of his opposition. Ward has a cast iron skull where he can take shots to his head physically but he can withstand a psychological warfare too. Again...a Ward/ Mayweather situation would be THE fight of that year.

But I agree...a fighter having to come down to make weight is stressful; especially, scientifically speaking, most of the body weight is water weight. Having to alleviate water weight means not consuming liquids to a extensive degree. A fighter may meet criteria at weigh ins but he's fcuked up and exhausted far before he even reaches the arena. So its a fcuked up "catch 22". If I was taking a fight like that they'd HAVE TO up my purse too.

Let's hope floyd-ward happens for real. Floyd should take care of guerrero with ease. Did you see the guerrero-berto fight? That first knockdown was bogus. Guerrero was holding berto with one hand and hittin him with the other. then the second knockdown was when guerrero threw the punch and his THUMB landed in berto's eye. berto didn't go down from the force of the punch, but because he couldn't see the other punches coming. But even with one eye, berto came back and backed him up and landed some sweet shots and tore guerrero's face up too. and this was after berto had taken 14 months off. I gotta give guerrero credit for having a good chin. But that only means he's gonna take more of a beating...guerrero is busy, but he showed me against klassen that he can't handle the body attack and he's not a real sharp puncher.
