why do people think segregation is bad.

Integration has never fully materialized in any form or fashion. So to say things are better would be totally unqualified. The fact is that before integration we CAN say we were progressing as a people.

If the brothers and sistas back then was shuttin down businesses becuz their money wasn't going into it during the boycotts...why didn't they just open up their own bus lines and other services...obviously its enough to make or break caucasians businesses.

I clearly state in the op, that bringin back those extreme forms of segregation would not be necessary, but as far as communities and other integrational forms that has led to us depending to much on this country, its not needed, as we've lost a lot of control of our communities and have alowed a lot on non-black businesses, to profit off of us through selling poisons and padding their pockets!

Plus we've had our culture partly destroyed by this amerikkkan society which influences and sets trends of ungodliness and immorality, which our people copy and follow, we've lost a large moral and spiritual base in the black community, as that mentality has been done away with it seems!

Personally, I would take issue with being seen as a pariah in a society that deems me too infereior to even be seen with. That is a very strong form of psychological opression. It fosters intense hatred and could only end in tragedy. Myself, I might be inclined to react vilolently to such an evironment. They probably would have to arrest me. I would never accept having a sub human status.

You have to understand my position. I'm mixed as it is, anyway. I don't care to preserve some separate racial identity. Being American is the only identity I need. We're all stuck here together and we really have more in common, Black or White than we do with any other culture. Just ask Africans what they think of Black Americans or Europeans what they about us. It behooves us to come together as one.

With all due respect to the notions expressed here, if I didn’t think the authors were serious, I’d be laughing out loud but they are serious and rather than laughing I am appalled at the degree self importance and ignorance some of you are expressing. I can guarantee you, I am at the upper end of the White power structure in the United States and in all of my years I have NEVER witnessed behind the doors scheming to undermine African Americans – to the contrary in fact.

It would seem that some of you will never find peace in this country and perhaps the best thing you can do is go out into the world in search of a better life. Be a modern day pioneer – so to speak. Haiti is the closest fully Black Republic I can think of and it is relatively close. I lived for a number of years on the island of Hispaniola and have spent considerable time in Haiti. The standard of living will be an adjustment, even if you are coming from what we consider to be “demographically poor” in the United States, but you will adjust – and the amount of help you can provide that nation would be immeasurable.

Why is it that you can't..or refuse to believe that Whites can feel compasion for you? I must say I really don't see this Black vs White world that you and Elite216 keep alluding too. My being part Black has never been a problem for me in this society..in fact it's probably been more of a blessing than anything else. I have absolutely no regrets or misgivings about it.
