America puts mixed race women in place to represent black beauty, which affirms the eurocentric standard of beauty. That also brainwashes people into believing that mixed women are prettier than black women when they are not.

This makes the black woman invisible.

True...I noticed that as a young child. I hate that the media influences all of us, even black people.

Miss USA Rachel Smith said she was biracial. Many biracial people are claiming their mixed heritage more and more.In a way you're right, but keep in mind most whites still see them as black.

I've never understood the hype with Halle. Yes, she is pretty and can look beautiful at times, especially on the red carpet, but she looks like an average pretty mixed girl as does many of the other mixed women in Hollywood who I think are just as good looking but do not receive the hype that she does. I think out of all of the celebs she wears short hair the best, and it takes a really beautiful face to be able to pull off short hair, so I guess she is beautiful and so are other mixed and black women in Hollywood, but for some reason, they chose her.

Yes, they are and I think they should because mixed women should not represent black women and black women should not represent mixed women.
And as far as your comment about white folks, that's white folks problem, not the biracials who they still see as black; that's something white folks need to work out within themselves.

While most whites see them as black, the media knows it doesn't work the same way with blacks. I hardly ever see a pretty brown/dark skinned girl in an advertisement commerial...they'll always be half white or just light skinned. It's not like they can't a brown skinned black chick, they're just not using them. At least the same thing isn't happening with black males...

I think that we are seeing more and more mixed pride because their numbers are increasing. Also society is becoming more and more liberal. It also doesn't hurt that a Bi-Racial man was elected president.
You state that "its something that white folks need to work out." But we all live in a White America. We live in a pro-white society.
Nobody lives in a bubble. So if you grow up as a bi-racial black person. Especially, within the last 30 years. Whites saw you as a black person. Blacks for the most part accepted that person. Therefore, you had a lot of mixed blacks claiming that they were black. This is direct proportional to the treatment they received from whites.
Now that whites have become more comfortable with the idea of a bi-racial person. Now mixed blacks are not "burdened" with being black. lol.

I agree, but that is because of the Negro practice of accepting all of the mixed race people into their race. Instead of blaming it on Eurocentrism, you should blame your own race for accepting octaroons and quadroons much less mulattoes as your own. What you should do is reject these people just as the Caucasoids have always done. Then there will be a group of mongrels running amok. This is true diversity, and would force Whitey to picture more pitch black females in their advertisements. That would suit me fine because I love jet black women. I mean I do not want to see anything except the whites of the eyes and their pearly whites when I see a black women. It is extremely attractive. Those brown skinned women are painful to look upon.

I noticed that long ago and its always been true to. Even back in the old days of Hollywood, they always favored light skinned actress like Dorothy Dandridge or Lena Horne. At least where black sex symbols went. They had famous dark actreses, but they never let them be sexy. I mean they gave Hattie McDaniel an Oscar way back when, and called her a great actress, but she was never shown as sexy. One thing I noticed also, is it is the same way with Latinas in Hollywood. Most of the Latinas I see everyday are brown and look mostly indio. But the ones in Hollywood, are always the more light skined ones, or the ones mixed with more white or a lighter skined race. Salma Hayek is light skinned, and mixed with Lebonese. J.Lo is really more golden than brown, and she even admitted that her color comes mostly from bronzers anyhow, almost all of the Latinas are light, and even the Latinos to. Andy Garcia, Ricky Martin,Mario Lopez. So you right that Hollywood is Eurocentric and makes darker skinned people invisible.

Yeah I noticed that about Latinos...When I browse the Spanish channels on TV, all of the actors and actresses look white.

eurocentrism plays a role too, because the media promotes it, little black children are given blonde headed barbie dolls to play with and are shown disney movies that depict white women as the eptiome of beauty, snow white for an example,..
and u can't blame blacks for accepting mulattoes as black because whites forced them too, they created the one drop rule so they won't have to deal with mulattoes,..

also some blacks have sort of a "slave mentality", an inferiority complex that passed down from generation, hence why some blacks call each other the "n " word, and call the most caucasian looking hair on a black person, "good hair"

it doesn't help that some black people don't accept mixed people. and it's not the fault of mixed people. it goes way back to slavery days and now, it's the media portraying this.

There is no such race is mixed, these are Black women - so they are not being put in place of anything.

Get organized because that's the best way to be productive today. You're eager to be as efficient and practical as possible, but you won't get very far if you don't know what to do first. So draw up a list of priorities and start with the most urgent. Ideally, you should be left to your own devices while you do all this because that will aid your concentration and self-confidence.
