Blacks, as a whole, have a severe inferiority complex

And it’s not something that’s ever really going to go away. For centuries we have been told that were are stupid, ugly, dirty, subhuman, and undeserving of the air we breathe. So it’s only natural that we begin to believe some of this.

Ever stand next to a white person and feel uncomfortable or like they were judging you, and they’re not even doing anything. That’s just one example of the “inferiority complex” blacks have.

PLEASE do not reply with a token response like,“This guy is white. There’s no way he can be black.” I’m tired of people thinking that no one can point of the flaws or negative aspects of their own people. Don’t try to act like “your shit don’t stink”. I’m a 100% black. And I know that I am in some way telling the truth.

maybe it would be more correct to say that you have an inferiority complex towards whites. i'm not saying your white, but, it just looks really bad when we generalize our own race based on our own personal issues

Blacks everywhere? Or in America?

No offense, but Africans know we are intelligent and beautiful for the most part...I see this within my own family and friends.

There is some validity to the stuff you spout... however, it also varies amongst individuals.

Some blacks have an inferiority complex... some don't.

Some have an inferiority complex in specific areas - aesthetics, a perceivable deficiency in intellectual fortitude, mores & etiquette etc.

It varies...!

Blaming your complex on whites does more to compound your problems than to solve them. Pull your head out, get some fresh air, and think about HOW the inferior white race can "hold back" the supposedly " mentally physically and emotionally superior" black race. You can't have it both ways.
You'll be taken seriously if you weren't just another run o'the mill white fascist!

... certainly going by your various fatuous postings.

I agree with you 100% but I don't let my "inferiority complex' hinder me. I wish other black people could rise above it and enjoy life more. The answer is not to place blame anymore; instead, we need to help each other more.

What I think we need is for people to get this out in the open (see Bill Cosby). We can not ignore this issue. Then we must work on strategies to improve ourselves.

First of all, can we speak on civil terms? I think I can present an argument that you won't see as blaming whitey, if you keep an open mind...

Last week I was on a business trip in Florida. One night my wife and I went to a comedy club. We arrived a few minutes before showtime so we were among the last people to be seated. We had to go to the front of the club. When we walked in the door, we immediately noticed something: all eyes were following us! We both took a quick look. We were the ONLY black people in the crowd of approx. 100 people (another black couple came in a few minutes later). Why was everyone staring at us?

On the airplane trip back, we found our seats. There was an older, white lady sitting in our row of three (aisle seat). She had to get up so we could get into the row. The look on her face was priceless: flushed with fear! I even sat by the window (to calm her down). I thought she would be more comfortable sitting next to another woman. She was nervous for the whole flight. In fact, when she went to the restroom, she told the man across the aisle to "watch her stuff". Why was she so uncomfortable?

I also agree for example if I am in a meeting with my job (which requires lots of meetings) and I am the only AA there I can sometimes feel like they are judging me but thats why I love my job because then I show them just how much I know about my work area so yes I do understand but I look at it as if it is a challenge and then I proceed to prove them wrong.

Yes exactly, because blacks from africa think much diffently to american blacks when it comes to culture, looks etc and don't have to deal with the type of issues that AAs do.

american blacks don't think this way. why is everyone trying to make it like it's AA's who feel this way?? why would we?? some of the issues on this forum, aren't a reflection of whats really goin on, in america at least. i don't know one person who feels like that, if anything, i've heard white people complain about how black people think their better and how arrogant we supposedly are. this thread is bs

I just don't see why white people always feel the need to remind me that I'm different from them. I look beyond skin color and right into the hearts of everyone I meet. Why can't everyone else do the same.

Correction: some white people. I wouldn't want to make gross generalizations about a whole group of people.

so you want blacks to admit they feel inferior? i am sure there are some that do,i am sure that there are negative effects on the psyche of blackfolk in general from racism, yet there are many that don't feel inferior , thank god i have never had that problem, as a matter of fact i could never understand how a man could look at another man and not see just that, a man, i never got how white people somehow became the "prototype " for humankind, god put us all down here, so I don't feel this. the cancer of racism has long infected america, and it has done just as much negative to whites as it has to blacks, trust me

Not so much (no disrespect). Maybe in your family, but in my experience, I have met plenty of AFricans while I was in AFrica that expressed to me that they liked my color better than their color and there was a large amount of people who bleached their skin (not a common practice among AA). That doesn't seem like self love to me.

And did you ever stop to think about where this "inferiority complex" came from? That might go a long way in figuring out how to deal with it.
