Good afternoon Harrisson. I see you've,uh,met Roger. In his more lucid moments he can and does make a point. It's the nastiness of his tone that turns many off. But I suppose when you suffer from multiple personality disorder you forget who you're supposed to be. For a while last year the theory was there was a crew taking shifts posting uder his name. Posting at all hours and you could tell by posting style and intellect it was different guys. Hes been absent for a while so I'm not surprised to see him pop up. I think the Indians and Chinese can lift South Africa from the abyss. The blacks have clearly shown they are incapable of leading the country out of the mire and it will take some brains.

I belive Chinese and Indian telecoms companies are looking to buy out Africa's largest mobile phone operator (its a South African company but also has subscribers in other parts of Africa).

By the way, it also looks like the Chinese are very interested in extracting natural resources in Africa. It remains to be seen whether the Chinese will begin to exploit the Africans just like Western companies have done in the past like Royal Dutch Shell (a British and Dutch oil company) and British Petroleum as well as American, European and Australian companies in the fields of oil and mining.

SA companies rarely get bought out. SA companies normally buy out foreign companies. MTN buying out Reliance, Wimpy SA buying out Wimpy UK, Old Mutual buying out United Asset Management. The most likely buyout of an SA company in the near future will be Vodacom by Vodafone which owns 50% of it anyway.

You got this story from a SA source which is obviously incorrect. I read it in an English newspaper that the Indians and Chinese were battling it out to buy MTN.

Also, both MTN and Old Mutual are white companies, in all fairness. Sure, there may be some black board members in either companies due to affirmative action initiated by post-apperteid government, but Od Mutual is almost 200 years old and I think has roots in London.
