Charlie Wilson, Beyonce and Biggie all used the word conversate. I hear people say it all the time. I don't correct them... I get called stuck-up enough.

Biggie was very smart so, I think he was just using it as string lingo and as a mark to indicate he was from the hood.

I never heard many Charlie Wilson interviews (just one that I know of) to hear in what context or how he sounded when he used the word. He might have done it just show he was down, too.

It's Beyonce I'm worried about.

All three of them used it in their songs.

Charlie Wilson- There goes my baby. 2nd verse- Then I saw her in the food court sippin' lemonade, conversating on a cell phone...

Biggie- Big Poppa. Conversate for a few, cause in a few we gon' do what we came to do. Ain't that right boo?

Beyonce- Get me bodied. Mission eight, now we conversating. We can skip small talk let's get right to the chase.

My problem is the people who don't know the right way to speak. Kanye West is quite intelligent, but he purposely uses words wrong to fit the context of his verse.

Why can't blacks use slang? Whites use it, Mexicans use it?
Slang is a made up word to represent another. This is a word being wrongly used.

Don't you have something else to do?

Kanye comes from people who are educated but I sometimes thinks he speaks that way for real.

I know Biggie didn't and neither did Tupac

If Charlie did it in the song it was probably to convey this I'm talking to my people thing and they know what I mean because this is how we do.

Beyonce is still learning so, the jury is out on her. At one time she wouldn't take the mic and speak at award shows and appearance because she didn't feel she spoke well. She use to always pass the mic to Kelly to be the mouth piece. Jay Z and a coach may have taught her a few things so, it could go either way with her.

People have been doing that for years. When I use to ride the trains, I use to hear conversations all the time where people would say conversate instead of converse and I thought, geez. They just repeat what they hear and it goes down the line....sad.
