I always say conversate when I conversate with other people in my peer group. They would alway's respond that it was not a real word and never will be. So I should stop saying it.

Well, it's good to know that now it is one.

A word that is known or made popular by more than a million people becomes a certified word and it is then published as a new word in the dictionary.

Hundreds of new words are added to the dictionary every year.

Thanks Bossy, you inspired my research.

What is funny is when people say "Disorien-TATED, instead of disorien-TED...no one is funnier than G. Bush...with his...was it Stratigery or Stratigium? I overheard someone the other day say they needed to go to the ATM and make a "withdraw-ment'. LOL, how cute!

or how about irregardless? But I must be honest,'conversate' is one of the least offensive 'ebonic' words that I know.

No! not a "withdraw-ment." Now that is funny... LOL

I bet you that in another year or two it will be in the dictionary. All you need are a million people saying it.

Every non-standard spoken word is not an example of the ill-fated ebonics lexicon.

What bothers me is when people are unaware that they are using a word that does not exist.

Now if they are aware of it...and are doing it for effect...that does not bother me.

Like if you are describing a really really big man...who is beyond gigantic or enormous...and you wish to convey how truly huge he is and you call him GINORMUS...both you and the listener know you are "inventing" a word on purpose.

What about ETHNTICITY?? Arrrrrrrrrrrrgh! I hate that one.

It's slang, and if enough people us it, eventually Webster will add it to the dictionary. It's true.

I don't think it's Ebonics...all people say funny words! I have a habit of saying "boughten" instead of "bought". Ex: I haven't boughten one of those in a long time". I don't know where I get that from! The past tense of a past tense? LOL!

How about "gription"? Instead of traction. LOL!

Hi ONE!!!

That was funny, I say it all the time now. LOL.

I was at a Taco bell not too long ago and overheard a woman and her small son talking about Adam. The child said how Eve was made from Adam's bones, his mother corrected him and told him Eve was made from Adam's "spare rib". LOL, how cute!

I have one from my friends...how to say this in a nice way...if a man goes into a REALLY cold swimming pool...he may experience "shrivelry".

Well, that's obvious! Whom thought it was a word? Kim used it on The Parkers, but she's supposed to be dumb.
