Brilliant thread.

I love Amazing grace...though my wife says it is a song to be sung in times of funerals.

Proud Sis, you are slowly changing.

Hope you find a good man like me to marry and bring forth good fruit to replenish this earth.

As far as singers, I've always liked Yolanda Adams. She's one of the best gospel vocalists I've heard so far. And of course The Clark Sisters are great singers as well. Gospel artists usually have the best singers.

I'm more a fan of old school gospel artists like Al Green, mahalia jackson, and albertina walker..you can just feel the depth of their singing in your soul..I do like some of the newer ones like Fred Hammond..

Oh, I LOVE that. One of my all time favorites- also from my childhood. I listen to it a lot- it's so uplifting and the voices are beautiful/powerful.

Yes, I should get back to a church- should definitely study the Bible more. I'm going to be married in my chidhood church soon- by the pastor who was there from my earliest memory, until she retired when I was 13. She is such a great person.

An incredible Gospel voice.
Paul Robeson.... you can imagine this song being sung in the fields among the slaves.
The misery in his voice, heartbreaking.
