Reread my post. I said I would never procreate with a black man at all, not just dark skinned black men, but black men in general especially those that are dark. My spouse must be nonblack and light skinned. I want biracial children and rarely do biracial children come out dark. The closer you are to white in this society, the better off you are.

WOW, Rachael - I thought after yesterday's conversation, you would feel a bit better about yourself. It appears that this dark/light thing has you by the short hairs and is twisting hard.

Your problem cannot be solved over the topix site. You should get into a good support group or something of that nature for guidance.

You cannot change your skin color. Well, you can, but that would take tons of $$$$. And if you did become lighter (since that is your goal), how do you know it would make a difference in your life? It probably would make little difference.

I feel sorry for you; not because you are dark, but because you have little self-worth and think of yourself as "less than" .

You are NOT handicapped. Spend one day in a burn center or a cancer ward. HA. I bet you will then thank the good Lord for every inch of your black, in tact skin.

I'm black and light(yellow)skin.I had lived in Philadelphia(7th poorest US city,blacks are the majority)for many years.In Philly many brown and dark skin black young adults prefer only brown and dark skin blacks.I lived in cities that weren't like this.My light(yellow)skin and my brown skin black young adult cousins lived in some zipcodes in Philly that have many sex offenders and none of the black men would date my light skin cousin and many black men wanted to date my brown skin cousin.There are few light(yellow)skin and brown or dark skin black young adult couples in Philly.

well i agree with diane77. it aint true that men like liteskinnd gurls better than darkskinnd gurls. im latina an there waz a couple of men i liked who ended up choosin a dark skinnd black woman over me. an i know a lot of my latina homegurls who had lite skin told me that there latin men cheeted on them with black women. a lot of us latina women felt jelus in our hood because on the street or at partys the dark skinnd women would get more attention from the males

WE don't segregate ourselves, white poeple segregate us. They are the source of the concept os "race" and they are the ones who separate us by it and force us to "identify" with a particular group. They are the ones who judge people based on skin color, and they are the ones who keep making an issue about "race" which DOES NOT EXIST in the biological or genetic sense.

Before white people, where was no such thing as "race" or skin color based hierarchies. People did not mention anything about "race". Only nationalities, and that had nothing to do with skin color. Gotta be real about this.
