i've visited a couple of areas of sub saharan. They are just made of mud and sort of straw stuff.<quoted text>
Sub Saharan black Africans live in mud and shit huts the same as they have for the past 30,000 year's. You want to guess who hasn't evolved any?
And there are reasons why they were built with mud even today. And it makes sense. And they make do with what they have. Work with the resources available to them.
The purpose of building a dwelling with mud was also explained on an episode of Survivor. The contestants found out the hard way why the locals chose mud for that area.
Any present day survivalist, dooms day type,or Peace Corps volunteer can explain it to you.
The type of hut varies in many countries. I've actually stayed two nights in a hut in N.Thailand with the hill tribes.
I also remember seeing the uniformed kids leaving their family huts to go to school in a coastal town north of Guayaquil in the late 90s..
