Right! But as for those video producers pputting non-black women in their videos, are they actually white directors? If so, then that may explain why we are seeing this new trend in music videos. The sad thing is, the rappers know this, but refuse to do something about it, since they're getting paid to promote non-black women in their videos. Then again, that shouldn't surpise us at all, since money is the only thing rappers care about, hence them rapping about it and some of their songs every now and then. Not only that, I also think it's also because of their self-hatred towards themselves and black women as well.I think we all need a serious wake-up call to realize all of these conspiracies conjured up by whites to keep us blacks divided and fighting amongst each other in any way possible. This is the only way we can overcome white supremacy and free our selves from their oppression. Like WLC has been preaching and urging us blacks to do for quite a while now, we seriously need to unite, so we can fight to put an end to this madness now.
Most of those directors are black. By the way thing are going now as far as that is concern, I'd rather see a black man with a light-skinned BLACK woman that has two black parents or a biracial black woman that looks more black (Faith Evans) than with a non-black woman. I noticed back then, for every 10 light-skinned black women in videos, there were 5 brown and dark-skinned black women in music videos. I would rather see that than to have a black music video when there are NO black women of ANY shade. Black women are on the decline nowadays in every aspect of the pop culture. Even Beyonce is catching the heat, even though she is very successful in her career!!! Why ain't Jay-Z marrying her yet??? Mack, we're living in a time when even black women of a lighter hue ain't good enough anymore. If lighter black women are on the decline, then brown and dark-skinned women are invisible. In my opinion, it takes a light-skinned black woman to open doors for brown and dark-skinned black women to walk through. Somebody has to open the door for other black women. It used to be like that. But now, black women PERIOD are not wanted for anything anymore. Anytime you will put Joss Stone, Fergie, Nelly Furtado, and Amy Whitehouse over Fantasia, Jennifer Hudson, India.Arie, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone, and even Alicia Keys, then that's a problem. I see it. This is the sign of the lack of black unity, in MY opinion, because when you shun black women, you shun the black community, because black women are the back bones of the black community. We need an Afrocentric movement like back in the late 80s when black people were more together. We need it now more than ever.

no birth record of the Black Man and therefore none can say how old the Black Nation is. As far back as, He said, a record has been kept, it dates 76 trillion years. These years (76 trillion) were divided into periods of six trillion years beyond 66 trillion years which would make the said figure 76 be 78, instead of 76 trillion.

Let's be real here. What we call dark in America would not be considered dark at all in Africa. Most of us America have got some Indian and White in us. Alec Wek is a true deep ebony shade that few of us ever see in America. European desigers probably like the look more because many of their Blacks are straight up Africans, instead of being African American, so to them maybe that is a look they like there. That is not to say that all Africans are dark of, most Blacks from the Horn of Africa are closer to us in America where skin tone goes.

That's what I'm saying. Judging from you picture if you stood next to Alec, you would not look dark at all. The mix would still show through.

That's very sad.. I noticed that too in the music videos. During the 90's there was nearly only Black women in rap music videos. Now it has totally changed. It's rarely to see Black women(even light skinned Black women) in rap videos.. Also the American movies is taking the same steps like the Rap Music Videos. It became a trend even in many of the movies I've watched lately with the non-Black women/Black men relationships.

It seems to me more like white people are now open to pimping out their women to black men, or they like portraying that image at least.

That's odd.......I've been married 11 years now.
Funny how some people hang on to foolish stereotypes they've heard at the dinner table talking amongst their A-alikes.

Why are there so many racists on these forums? Nearly all of the white posters AND black posters come off as though they're complete bigots. Even the "baad indyan", who appears to be having an ethnic identity crisis, comes off as a "kill whitey" type. Stop placing the blame people! It's these very thoughts, and internet forums, that further racism.

Sad sad. What world are you living in because lightskinned does not equal pretty . I'm carmel brown who represents natural beauty w/o wearing a stinch of make up unlike Ms. Beyonce, Tyra and the others who have a whole glam squad and with all that said I have no problems what so ever with getting attention from my brothas. I have seen a lot of unattractive white girls as well as lightskinned Black girls who do not get the time of day so this thread is based on pure opinions . You can try all day and you still can't bring me down as a darkskinned Black woman. Try again

Well Naomi Campell and Iman are both gorgeous.. If they weren't beautiful and attractive how can they make millions of dollars out of their look? Anyway.. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder..
And Iman has a narrow nose too.. Actually more narrow than Janet Jackson..

Notice those two models NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER DATE BLACK MEN, ITS APART OF THEIR JOB REQURIEMENT THAT THEY MUST SLEEP WITH WHITE MEN ONLY. The whites who EMPLOY THEM HAVE THAT UNWRITTEN RULE, if they break it they will be out of a job. If you don't believe me ask Whitney Houston?

I am also carmel colored, and even had a white grandparent, But I have relatives who run the gamut in terms of coloring, and to my eyes they are all beautiful. It makes me sad that colorism is still so strong among us, but I think the media has a lot to do with it since they do tend to hype lighter skinned black females more than darker ones. But the same holds true in many cultures unfortunately.

I agree to the above quote. When black woman come on these boards and talk about they have to date out their race because of "love" and no black man available of of the 10 million or more that exist in usa, i say total bull crap.

Since black woman are the backbone of black race, what she is really saying when she says she is "opening up her options" she is saying, i no long have an interest in being black community. If you lose the backbone of he black community you no long have a community.

I'm sorry tyra banks is on the skinny side for me. and rihana is pretty but she too is a lil skinny.
lol, most women I find attractive are mostly on body type. and for skin color, as long as yoru skin isn't blotchy and its all 1 tone then its beautiful. lotsa dark women look good. In fact the one girl I'm chasing at the moment is dark.
