Why is there always a degrading post about Darkskin women? My god what did we do to you to make so many people talk so badly about us?? It really makes no sense. I am so sick of black guys in particular drawing negative generalizations about darkskin girls when half of them probably never even dated one. And if they did they have to group us all together as 'ghetto' and 'loud' which is not true. Some of these same guys will date a stuck-up saadity lightskin chick and won't have anything bad to say about her . Just because she is lightskin it gives her a free pass huh?

I am so sick of this prejudice. It makes it so hard being a darkskin black girl in this world. No wonder I'm so depressed

no offense to you sis but you might want to expand your options and stop focusing on the negative people. i'm definitely not an IR promoter but i have had the most compliments on my skin color from men outside of the race. the truth of the matter is black people just do not value black skin anymore, period. and not to say that other races of men are any better or worse than black men but if black men are 'depressing you' maybe you need to do something different and branch out and find happiness elsewhere. can't stand to see another sista 'depressed' over colorism cause i've gone through it and still am and i believe we should be each other's support system. best of luck to you :)

"Why is everyone so hard on Darkskin Girls?"

For some, it's because they're seen as different and since most people find beauty in commonality and a set standard, they look their noses down on the darker women as if they're worth little to nothing.

For even more, it's jealousy and envy that darkskin girls have a natural beauty, sex appeal, and attraction they don't and might never have.

That really lifted my self esteem. You really think we have a natural beauty and sex appeal? wow I feel really good. It seems that blk guys think the lightskin girls or the non black girls who look like Kim K do

For some reason, I am not attracted to non-Black men at all. They don't do anything for me

i don't see why blacks diss other blacks of a slightly different skin-tone.. either way, we're black.

i seen some smoking hot dark skinned sistas back in the US. It's more to do with the body than the skin-tone... i can't stand obese women..

i don't know what to tell you then. i kinda doubt that you have seriously never had an attraction to any other men, but at the same time if it is true, you might be depressed for awhile to come. if you are an older woman you might not have as hard a time but if you are a teenager or college aged you might just continue experiencing the same rejection you experience. thats life. if you don't change your approach you get the same results. i can tell you that if you don't already love yourself it will be hard to get anyone else to do the same anyway. i do hope you find your way though.

I know a lot of black guys who prefer Beyonce over all of the brownskin and darkskin girls. They just think she is hotter than them. Which makes me really sad and I don't have much confidence in myself. I wanted to pursue a career in entertainment but felt discouraged because I knew it would be hard for me and that I would never be truly accepted as lighter skin women

Dark skin black chicks are for the majority overwhelmingly ugly you may find a attractive one here or there but that's unlikely. It's the features they have and the lack of hair that make them unattractive not really darker skin it's just that these traits usually come with draker skin. There are a few dark black women that have longer hair but then they fry it with chemicals, put weaves in it that look hideous and complain all day on how they can't get their hair wet.

Dark or light i usually think the lighter ones are better looking but that's just my opinion. The real problem is with the BW themselves it's just easier for any man to date or marry a non-BW they come with less baggage, less mental problems and less issues you have to fix. Marrying a non- BW is like buying a new car you can get in and go but a BW is like a used car sometimes you have to put in to much time, money, effort on something that's going to show little or no return and if it does work out you just bring them up to par.

I know how you feel girl because I've been criticized for being dark-skinned myself. It's mostly by black folks more than non-black folks. It's like when I be around black people, it seems like I have to change my whole persona just to fit in simply because I'm dark. I have to constantly straight my hair, wear weaves, etc. It's a headache. Light-skinned women didn't have to go through all that to be accepted in the black community. I work at an all black school. The black kids used to call me Celie, Florida Evans, Whoopi Goldberg, Aunt Jemima, runaway slave, African booty scratcher, etc. People treat me different from light-skinned women. And the funny thing about it is that I'm not even that dark!!! It ain't like I'm Alec Wek or something!
But the good thing is that when I be aroud non-black folks, for some reason, I feel more comfortable. I didn't have to work real hard to be notice when I be around non-blacks. Yes racism do exist, but it's even worse when black folks are racist towards you.
Something is wrong with Alec? Arenít you doing the same thing you say people do to you?

I am not like a used car or anything else you said.

Thank you for being a part of the problem and illustrating what we browner sisters on the Forum have been speaking of....

Although Ms. Little was made fun of for saying this, your opinion is a majority opinion.
