Is the black market for Fake Goods, really the”Black and Latino market?”

OK, folks don’t try and tell me that you never bought a knock off pair of sunglasses. The goods we buy on the street can include fake Ray-Ban sunglasses, Coach handbags and North Face jackets. Fake items, knock offs that we,(and others) buy on the streets of America. Should black folks stop buying these goods in barbershops, salons, and on the street? Visit: AfricanAmericanOpinion.com

I really don't beleive there's anything wrong with buying a fake. I have done my research and this whole campaign against fakes is from all the fashion designers that are pissed off.

Most everything is copied these days, some way or another. As to the accusations of little kids working on factories that make fakes, they also work at factories that make other products that are not fakes and that are sold at walmart. So what now, are we all gonna stop shopping at walmart???

The place that I shop the most online is www.hollywoodaccessory.net They have the best chanel and louis vuitton bags in the replica market, great customer service and fast delivery.

If it matters to anyone, I am biracial asian and white, married, college educated and earn above $120K a year.

I occasionally buy bootleg products, mainly CDs. I hate bootleg DVDs and I don't buy knock-off clothes or shoes with the exception of a t-shirt here and there. Something about wearing a fake designer label makes me feel funny. BTW, I only buy authentic labels when I get a good deal. I refuse to pay all that money for clothes just beause of the name on the tag especially for kids clothes. But I don't blame people for buying knock-offs and the makers of the real products shouldn't either. Afterall, they force people to but bootleg due to the rediculous cost of the the real thing. As far as blacks boycotting the black market...I don't think that's going to happen. Even if we did, it wouldn't change much since others buy fakes as well. The answer doesn't lie on the door step of the black community or any consumer for that matter. Its an issue of foreign trade and product import security checks so I say its on Bush's plate and we all know where the story goes from there!

I have never bought knock off merchandise and don't plan on it soon...lol.

To me, it just waters down the whole designer experience. No one told me to go out and spend X-hundred dollars on designer purses, but hey I did and it's a 'treat' to me....

This guy at my job sells knockoff purses and it's nerve-wrecking to see these women buy form him and flaunt their $25 knockoffs and everyone thinks there so fabulous. I know that not everyone can afford real Louis and Fendi, but it's like 'they're fronting' when they sport this phony stuff. I'd prefer a nice, leather unmarked no-name designer bag to a fake-a$$ phony signature Coach. LOL
