i don't know what colour i am because it changes throughout the year and i don't wear foundation.
but damn i've never given my skin so much thought until i got to topix.
people have folks under a fine toothed comb when it comes to skin.
lol i've even been accused of bleaching my skin here.
topix is a trip.
Oh, I saw that. 2 of the biggest trolls were really arguing with you about your skin tone. Some people I really think live under a rock...I'm about 3 shades darker right now because I was at the beach for three weeks last month. And hello...lightening can play a part in how you look in pictures as well.

And I have never met a black person that bleached their skin. I thought that went out with the jheri curl...

he's doing ok. he likes school because it's at home so he doesn't have to wake up at the butt crack of dawn and he can work when he's feeling most creative. so he's happy.

his 8th birthday is saturday so we're having a pool party/bbq and one of my dive partners is an illusionist so he's going to do a little performance and an underwater trick for them... i'm so excited!

i love planning bday parties for him.

thanks for asking about him.

all is well with you?

I've wondered about this myself before. I mean, it really doesn't matter but I'm just curious at times to hear and see what others classify as "caramel". Am I? LoL

i think it's really unfortunate that people focus SO much on skintone. geeze, it's not that serious. and my family is REALLY hung up on colour, but damn not like topix!

i found the skin bleaching crap to just be completely retarded. otherwise i'd just get lighter and lighter in my pics.

joao pequeno posted a photo of a chick who bleaches.. wow.. her head was like gray and her body was normal. personally, as much as people say blacks like to bleach.. i don't know a single black woman/man who has ever bleached.

or admitted to bleaching.

now i've known people who WISH they were lighter or darker.. or hate because of it.. but i've never known anyone to actually take an artificial step to attain that.

i posted a pic i took a few weeks ago (the one i have up now) and i'm darker than my winter pic. so how would i get DARKER?.. because it's summer!

i even posted one with a v shaped sunburn from my wetsuit being unzipped.

it astounds me how much people pretend they don't care yet one of them was critiquing an interracial family in his church down to the SHADE!

if i don't care what shade i am.. lol i really wonder why would anyone else.

odd behaviour to me.

maybe more black people need to spend time at the beach and then they'd see how dark they can really get.

hell, most of the darker skinned people i know avoid the sun like the PLAGUE!.. many of the lighter skinned people i know like going out into the sun and changing some colour.

He has all the Ben 10 watches, Transformers, and Iron Men his little heart desires!

he didn't want to do soccer this year. he said he's rather watch it on TV but he said he doesn't like running.

he's been focusing on his best talent which is finswimming. he can't run, he can't catch or throw, but he can finswim and that's what he said he wants to do.

it's unfortunate though because he has an awesome pair of cleats.

i don't wanna push him.

we're keeping the party for family, close children, and adults who live in my complex.

aww.. your son is 7.

aah the good ole days.. lol

Well, in doing so, you are promoting the objectification of yourself. You don't look, taste, or smell like caramel, because you are a human being. I've been asked before by a white girl whether I taste like chocolate (I kid you not). Now, would you take this as a compliment?

Drama,
What in the heck are you talking about? What am I not proud of? My skin complexion, I think not, I just like the way my skin looked tanned. What am I not standing behind what I said? I'm a light skinned multiracial who has a preference with how she looks.
No one is playing innocent, I'm clearly at a loss where all this is coming from but since you wish to bring your issues about me on Topix (instead of offline) like I said, do whatever makes you happy. I'm not here to bash you or anyone else. I'm evil? Hmmm, not from my perspective but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Who is talking about a skin complexion? LOL!! I don't care about your complexion. Stop talking to me please. Thanks! Have a nice life. I wish you all the best, and I really mean that.

Ciao!

Well there is actually foundation by Cover Girl that is for dark skin and is called Caramel. I used it once, and it blended perfectly. I've also used foundations that were called, soft honey, bronze, and cocoa beige and they all blended perfectly to match my skin tone. The thing is I've never considered my skin tone to be either of these, just brown.
