The mulatto of the Carribean were not all raped. Some were, some were not. Miscegenation in Latin America was not forbidden like it was in the US....the Spanish and French colonies were different. Mulattos in Haiti and DR were also powerful people, not enslaved like in the US.<quoted text>
This might come as a surprise to you, but those mulattos you speak of are because of Spanish men who use to rape black women. These mulattos are Africans just like the dark one, or as you called them Africans.
Can you tell me how many slaves were brought to the Dominican and from where they come?
The British were the most racist of all. The French and Spanish were not as racist towards the mulatto hue.
Look up Trujillo. His reign imported Polish to lighten the race in DR, which was darker. He was full of self hate. He wore white makeup to lighten his skin. Both DR and Haiti have both dark blacks and mulattos. Some light Dominicans still have light Haitian blood as well. In other words, the color of your skin does NOT reveal whether you are Haitian or Dominican.
That is a recent popular myth.
