Your quieteness to me means u have LOST the topic. As I have suprised people like Nnamadi with my articles last year, he researched most of inputs and found that Africans who went to the USA were diversed and it would be STUPID to that AAs were 80% Igbo as Mr Chambers assumed and was critisized by historians for being that stupid.

Where he later came back and acknowledged regions like the Senegambia and West central Africa (Angola-Congo).

Let me tell u the Igbo diaspora in the USA

Chesapeake 1690-1774 TOTAL OF ALL AFRICAN SLAVES IMPORTED 96 000(Virginia and Maryland)

Slaves from Biafra region=37 000

Igbo slaves imported 30 000 and Efik,Ibibio,Moko made 7000 of the imports. Main task worked as field hands in tobacco fields.

South Carolina and Georgia legal 1670-1807 and illegal 1860s.TOTAL OF ALL AFRICAN SLAVES IMPORTED 120 000.

Biafra slaves made 2% South Carolina and Georgia trade (Mainly re-trans shipped from West Indies).
Slaves from Biafra weren't favoured in this region because they were weak,short and sometimes yellowish in colour.

South Carolina and Georgia slavers PREFFERED dark,tall and hardworking slaves from:

* Greater Senegambia (Senegal to Liberia)43% overall (Religion muslim).
* Gold coast 13%
* Angola-Congo 40%
*Few from Mozambique 1%.

LOUISIANA 1719-1820 TOTAL OF ALL AFRICAN SLAVES IMPORTED 100 000.

Louisiana slave pattern mirrored the SC and GA slaves prefferences.

French Period 1719-1763 (Imported 5660 slaves)

* Greater Senegambia (Senegal to Liberia)70% overall (Religion muslim).
* Gold coast 0%
* Bight of Benin 25%
* Bight of Biafra 0%
* Angola-Congo 5%
* Mozambique 0%.

Spanish Period 1763-1803

* Greater Senegambia (Senegal to Liberia)30% overall (Religion muslim).
* Gold coast 0%
* Bight of Benin 35%
* Bight of Biafra 5%
* Angola-Congo 25%
* Mozambique 5%.

American Period 1803-1820

* Greater Senegambia (Senegal to Liberia)25% overall (Religion muslim).
* Gold coast 0%
* Bight of Benin 15%(From Haiti)
* Bight of Biafra 6%(From Jamaica)
* Angola-Congo 47%(From Congo river,Haiti,Cuba,Guadeloupe).
* Mozambique 3%.

So my brother as u can see the Congo region and Greater Senegambia dominated the DEEP SOUTH.
Its not by mistake that in Louisiana u get "Angola state penetertiary,Congo square".This is the evidence of the LEGACY that the BANTU speaking Angola-Congolese people left in USA. Upper South imported more west Africans and the Deep South/Louisiana imported more Angola-Congolese people.

THATS THE RICH,DIVERSED AND BEAUTIFUL HISTORY OF AFRO-AMERICANS IN U.S.A.!!!!!

AA's are prodomantly igbo i feel it an see it by the way AA's in D.C. act and in there music gogo. People in D.C. have a certain proud stubborness about them as well as an attitude in which they don't go for shyt (allow any one to insult or challenge them without confrontation) just as the igbos of BIAFRA. This is the beautiful warrior mentality given by the city's forefathers the igbo and most slaves weren't criminals they were captives of war. And don't get it twisted all igbos were great warriors it was just that type of day when one would lose a battle an be captured on another day you might have been the victor.

Tell me were one can locate a man as proud as the
AA, oh yea igbo land. IGBO ENWE EZE (igbos have no king) and they realy didn't and still don't. They have a political system in which a certain number of leaders representing the community can get together and speak for the people. They're are for them and by them. Thats why black people started saying we are not slaves but the son's of Kings and Queens because of this beautiful arrogance their and my forefathers possessed and which inturn trickled down to us.

Bros u can change names but TRUETH IS AFRO AMERICANS IN USA ARE AN AMALGAMATION OF AFRICAN TRIBES. Igbo majority story is 419 scam LIE!!!

Here is articles showing that Afro-Americans ain't Majority Igbo. One of them(Nnamani) went on to research and found out. Out of 11 million Africans sent to Americas half (5,6 million) of that came from Angola/Congo region.

Even their favourite Igbo web page "Igbo Nations shows that Igbos sent 1,7 million slaves.

Most of these(Igbos) were sent to:
* Jamaica 33.3%
* Cuba 15%
* Haiti 10%
* British Leeward Islands 30% and lastly U.S.A. 18.6%(30 000 slaves to Virginia and less than 2% in SC/GA,6% in Louisiana).

I DON'T REMEMBER ANY BIG IGBO FIGURE THAN THIS ONE IN U.S.A.!!!!!!!!!

A. SOUTH CAROLINA AND GEORGIA 1670-1807

Bantu(Angola/Congo) imported over 40 000 slaves to South Carolina and Georgia 1700-1807 legal trade and between 1808-1867 illigal trade Bantu(Angola/Congo) rised in numbers to 43% of SC/GA slavepopulation.

The Igbos made 2% of SC/GA slave population.

B. LOUISIANA 1719-1820

1. In Louisina Bantu(Angola/Congo) made 35.7% from 1719-1810 and 1815-1820 Bantu made up to 47% of Afro-Louisiana slave population.

2. Mande (Senegal-Liberia) were the second largest group followed by 25%.

3.Bight of Benin 25%.

4.While Bight of Biafra slaves made 6% of slave population.

C. VIRGINIA AND MARYLAND (Chesapeake) 1670-1774

Yes Nnamadi and Heeboman make some noise Igbos imported 30 000 slaves and 7000 were Mokos,Ejagham,Ibibio,Nupe,Haus a,Tiv,Tikar together these people exported from Bight of Biafra made 38% of slave population of Virginia.

Bear in mind that more than half of slaves from Biafra were women.

Meaning the Igbo women intermingled mainly with groups who sent more "MALE" slaves to Virginia plantations. Those groups were Senegambia(house servants),Angola/Congo (field hands) and Gold Coast (artisans) whose slaves were 68% young males.

Remember Igbos and Angola-Congo were field hands in Virginia, MEANING they had LIMITED contacts with white masters. Biafran and Angola-Congolese people were mainly imported in the Southern Virginia area (York district).

While tall dark well built Upper guineans,gold coast slaves were imported in Upper Virginia.
Senegambian slaves were imported from Africa to work as "HOUSE SERVANTS", Senegambians slaves were able to read and write for their masters. They came with the skill of writing from Senegambia(Senegal-Mali) since they were Muslims(wrote Arabic). The Senegambians were Fulanis(Job Ben Solomon of Maryland),Mandigoes(Kunta Kinte of Maryland),Wolofs,Tuculor etc..

It is known that the Maryland area imported mainly Senegambians who worked for wealthy Maryland whites.

First of 419 doesn't have anything to do with our descendants who im claiming because im smack dabb in the middle. I know igbo's who go so hard that they talk shyt about everyone execpt people from the igbo tribe, then from their own town and finally to themselves. IBO aka i before others which is also the same mentality as our DMV brothers. It's documented that mass majority of igbo slaves were brought to virginia in the 18th and 19th century. Just type in igbo slaves in virginia and you'll see the ways in which we constantly resisted or igbo's landing in Georgia.

AFRICAN SURVIVALS IN U.S.A.

Chesapeake region of Maryland & Virginia 30% and the coastal low country of Georgia and South Carolina 40% overall, received the overwhelming majority of nearly 300,000 Africans transported to U.S.A.

The first Africans sold on the North American mainland landed in Virginia in 1619, brought by the Dutch from Angola(Mbundu). More would follow, but for decades most slaves were either trans-shipped from the West Indies(Ashanti) in small lots or brought as bondspeople by European and West Indies immigrants when they migrated to America. Not until the late seventeenth century did demand for enslaved labor reach a level that would support regular direct shipments from Africa.

VIRGINIA

By the time strife with Great Britain ended the colonial slave trade in 1775, an estimated 100,000 Africans, mainly from Senegambia, the Gold Coast, the Bight of Biafra, and Angola in West-Central Africa, had been transported to the Chesapeake. Bight of Biafra imported 37 000 slaves,Igbos(30 000), Moko,Tikar,Hausa,Udelme etc. sent 7000.

Africans in Chesapeake by region 1600-1774

*Greater Senegambia 26,5%(Wolof,Mandingo,Mende etc.)-MANDE
*Gold Coast 16%(Akan-Fante)-KWA

*Angola-Congo 16%(Mbundu,Luba,Lunda etc.)-BANTU
*Mozambique 2%(Makua,Nguni etc.)-BANTU

LOWCOUNTRY

Lowcountry slavers preferd their slaves to be dark,tall,well built for labour in rice,cotton fields. In Georgia and South Carolina, English slavers delivered another 130,000 people from Senegambia, Sierra Leone, the Windward and Gold Coasts, and Angola, were "prefered slaves. Slavers disliked slaves from Biafra who were known for being weak,suicidal hence they were sent to Virginia and North Carolina. Bantu and Mande people of Africa predominated in Lowcountry as the whole including Louisiana.

AFRICAN SURVIVALS IN U.S.A.

LOUISIANA

Africans in Louisiana by region 1719-1820

First slaves recorded imported in Louisiana were from Senegambia in 1719. Senegambians were majority during the French trade in Louisian made two-thirds of the imports. There were six recorded transatlantic slave trade voyages from the Bight of Bénin which arrived in French Louisiana, the last one in 1728. Africans from this coast came to be prized in the parishes upriver from New Orleans and were sought out by Louisiana slaveowners during the active transshipment trade to Louisiana from the Caribbean Islands. Slaves from the Bight of Bénin were brought directly from Africa to Saint-Domingue in large numbers before 1750. After 1750, the transatlantic slave trade to Saint-Domingue tilted heavily towards West-Central Africa. Almost all West-Central Africans were listed as Congo and they were clustered in coffee growing regions." The Congo began to arrive in Louisiana in large numbers much later: not before the 1780s. They were concentrated in and near New Orleans, especially after sugar became a major crop there

In Saint Domingue/Haiti-1700-1810

Despite the multiplicity of African ethnicities represented among its slave population, certain particular African groups were disproportionately numerous. Although slaves were drawn from all regions of Africa, from Senegambia to Mozambique, two regions of supply were overwhelmingly predominant: West-Central Africa (Angola) and the ‘Slave Coast’(Bight of Benin). Over the entire period from the 1720s to the 1790s, West-Central Africa(Angola-Congo) supplied nearly half (45%) of the slaves whose ethnicities are recorded, the Bight of Benin over a quarter (28%). Within each of these two regions, moreover, a particular ethnicity of slaves predominated: those shipped from West-Central Africa were overwhelmingly ‘Congo’; while of those shipped from the Bight of Benin, came from Gbe-speaking groups, generally called ‘Radas’(or ‘Aradas’).

This numerical dominance of Congos and ‘Radas’ is evidently reflected in the structure of the vaudou religion, whose principal deities are organized into the two complementary/opposed groups called ‘Rada’ and ‘Petro’, of which the latter seem to be mainly of Congo origin.

There were other groups like the Greater Senegambians 16%, Igbos 10%,Mozambique 1%.
