It's not about bm to me though. I think enough has been said --in all honesty. Therefore, bw can simply talk about other stuff without interjecting bm all of the damn time..and vice versa. For Petes sake, Bw need to quit going door to door selling our look. My goodness. There's other stuff going on of real importance.
Uhh, not to Capree. The only thing that matters to her is bm.n Which is sorta funny for a woman who claims to have no interest in us, yet cannot stop talking bout us. She is definitely a rare breed, but since you bw refuse to call her out on it, she continues to embarrass you all. I'm sure there are idiots who believe this is how bw behave, and that should be the focus of bw, stopping other bw from making you all look like fools. I see some bw are trying to subliminally speak to her, but she is one of those you have to be blunt with.

<quoted text> Black men objectify Buffy the Body. They like her body, not her skin color. I even hear them clowning her, saying stuff like, "She thick but why she so black tho?" or "She's a butterface--everything looks good "but her face". they deal with women who look like Buffy every day in the real world and all they seem to want to offer is a stiff dick and "wifey"/baby mama status.
This may come as a surprise to you, but there are MANY AA men who PREFER darker skinned sisters--though I'm no tsure that's any better than preferrring light skinned sisters. For me it's a matter of appreciating the BEAUTY of African womanhood in whatever hue it manifests itself, from Lupita to Iman, from Halle Berry to Gabrielle Union. And whether you find her acting on the silver screen, or struggling as a waitress to feed her family.
But first of all, STOP stating what it is Black men want. ASK! You'd be surprised at the variety of responses you'd get.

Why place value on those men and their racist statements?
I find it remarkable that a number of Black WOMEN has said they thought Lupita was unattractive or ugly. Maybe for reasons similar to why some Black men make similar judgments.

I know hundreds of black men. Dozens of my husband's friends come over and watch football games with my husband. Most of them really find Buffy The Body attractive.
Not surprising--unless one is detached from reality by stereotypical conceptions of Black male perceptions, it has to be OBVIOUS that many Black men find her and other dark sisters very attractive. I can't tecall a time when that was not the case.

I understand. I was only highlighting that bm didn't have to be brought up as to why lots of bw prefer not to date them (as in a revenge type of thing). I look at it more of cause/effect (both ways)...so, it's not revenge (which comes across as petty and silly- especially if the other party truly doesn't give a care) but rather cause/effect.

I actually agree with you that stating dark bw or light bw or light bm vs dark bm is still bolstering an atmosphere of racial tension. It would have been the ultimate task of blacks not to give in to such division..but too bad it didn't happen. Blacks are now going down in history as an extremely racist/divided on skin tone group of people.

Now this doesn't mean bp didn'/don'tt have a right to love one look over the other aestheticaly... the problem is/was how this was/is expressed. Because of a race based system which puts all non wp at somewhat of a disadvantage based on not being part of the majority race.."blacks" should have stated their preferences when they were around the blacks they preferred. This would have had limited backlash because rarely can people state preferences without bashing the non preference.

So are people obligated to find her attractive? Why is it so hard to get that there is raced based judgements and then there is just a matter of opinion. We are smart enough to know the difference.

Carmen, you seem to have a good head on your shoulders unlike a certain person who shall remain name(Capree)less. That's what I've been preaching all along. Whether someone is open to or prefers to date/marry persons from another race, there is no cause to trace your opposite gender. Ever.

There is no better one. Fact is that Afro Americans ,even though they are a pan the azz, they are 1000 years ahead of African people , for the simple fact that they were born in America.
The African culture is fascinating , but primitive , Only the Africans that live or can move to European Countries live a life in civilization , access to excellent education , etc.
Afro Americans set the rule when it comes to what is cool, and even though they take for granted , they have a lot of more power than they realize.
Just observe how the rules they set in Arts , dressing and etc.. observe that no matter how discriminated and talked about in a negative way, it eventually becomes ingrained in the majority culture and worldwide.
There is no Country in the world , no matter how liberal and accepting of black people , they are , they will have a Jay Z , and Beyoncee , a Denzel Washington, an Oprah Winfrey ,A Black President , a Henry Gates , this is just a few names. I could have cited scientist , Politicians ..but ugh!
There will be thousand years before Africans , get even close culturally , and economically to African Americans.
Right now the rise in Economics is mostly based on the help the investing power of the Chinese .
I just hope that Afro Americans get real and spend more energy and time educating their children , being united , give back to their communities , so them as people become stronger and more resilient.
