Hie Guys!
So my boyfriend and I have been throwing around baby names.... Playfully, I'm not pregnant. And our top 3 are
1. Hugo
2. Louis
3. Theodore
And....
1. Anastasia
2. Alexandria
3. Sophia
Second names we have agreed will be Christian names; Jude, Seth, Micah, Anna, Julia, Susannah etc
And third names will be the happy hippie Asa, Pax, Willow, Raina, Starla, Thalia etc
I was thinking of including African names Khaya (home), Atidaishe (the Lord has loved us), Anashe (she/he is with the Lord), Dalitso (blessings), you get the jist -- but to be honest I have a name my boyfriend can't even pronounce, so I'm not too keen on that.
So what do you think of the names? And what are your personal favourites?
You came on an African-American forum and said Hugo? This place is getting more cartoonish than your photo. You should bleach your skin and name the next one Waldow, lol.

IKR? Hugo is a lovely name, I am on the fence with Anastasia. I like Sophia a bit better.
My dog is called Harry.... after Prince Harry (coz he looked nothing like the 2 dogs that made him, he is kinda red furred and naughty), we thought it was funny but people don't usually get the joke.
Well, Prince Harry is definitely the "red furred and naughty" type for sure...LOLOL!!! I totally get the correlation.

But yea, I like the twist on the name "Hugo"..."Sophi a" carries a grandiose connotation as well. Most of the women I know with that name are very full-figured, curvy and robust, but very, VERY pretty (coincidently). I like the name "Sophia".

Don't you ever get tired? Her IQ seems points and points higher than yours and we all know your single digit rating is about as low as they go. Now, prove me right, k?

No, Sophia is a little too girly for you. Maybe if she looks more like you than Jerr then maybe just maybe. But in any case I do not see your daughter as a Sophia type.
Talking to yourself? You have no excuse. You weren't raised by strange parents who only allowed you to associate with Jehovah's Witnesses. You should be able to relate.

The last time I heard the name Hugo, was that childhood cartoon character, Hugo a go-go. He was the short funny looking mad scientist with the wild hair-due always trying to destroy something on the cartoon Batfink. Some of you may be to young to remember this. You may want to think twice before coming to America and naming your child Hugo.

The only person I knew with the name Hugo in real life was some white kid in elementary school with big Jumbo the Elephant ears. He didn't get much respect.

You're a bipolar b!tch aren't you? I didn't post that name or give anybody permission to post that name, did I? Aren't you the one who reports people to the mods when they break the rules of this forum?
What happened to your love of abiding by the rules this time?

<quoted text> so, why is that?...what's wrong with these black african women that makes them so white-worshipping? is that part of the culture of some of these countries they come from?...didn't they get the memo that black culture is just as good as any other?
You have to remember that these countries were colonised by whites and these women never grew up around white people like other black people in Europe.

When you're raised amongst whites, you see that there's nothing special about them. When you're raised in a white country, you don't see it as anything special. These African women only see white people on tv or the odd wealthy white person on tv, so they view them differently from people like us. Ignorant Africans think the streets in countries like the USA and uk are paved with gold, because they're simply ignorant.

I'm African myself, but I can admit it that those foreign born Africans who relocate to the west are clowns with backwards thinking they bring with the. Africa is a mess because of Africans like that who are incompetent and backwards, so don't be surprised that they do not understand your logic. And don't take it personally. If these Africans actually had any sense, Africa would be in a better state.
