Fascinating comment. Why do you think a latino would never get as far as being nominated for the U.S. Presidency? I'm just curious. I actually disagree. I do doubt a Mexican American would get that far, but I think it'll be a Puerto Rican to get it because they know our system better and can relate to Americans much better.
Anti-Latino sentiment is too deeply culturally ingrained.

Hmmm I didn't notice. I think if this country can put a half black man in office and his slave descendant wife, then anything is possible. I don't feel or see any major anti-latino sentiment here. At this point, if that latino possesses the skills for the job, many would stand behind him or her. This country has more progressive people than the dying old fashion Republican breed.

They are considered far more acceptable than bicultural-bilingual perceived as immigrant Latinos.

BTW
Most PRs don't even notice that PR is a US territory lacking all the decisional freedoms which non-colonized nations take for granted.

I agree with that PR statement. Would you vote for a latino in a U.S. Presidential election?

I think it's true that Puerto Ricans are more acceptable to the mainstream than Mexicans or Central Americans.

Having lived for years in California I observed that the racism against Mexicans there was intense.

A lot of gringos see Mexicans as "other". This includes black gringos.

I've never witnessed the division in CA, but I hear it's as bad maybe worse than the south. Do you think if a Mexican runs for the Presidency that blacks would have as high a turnout as Obama had with latinos?

Thank you for this breakdown here. Are you Puerto Rican or what are you? If you don't mind me asking.
