If you have natural hair and you have some advice on how to take care if your hair please leave tip.

1. never comb your hair dry..use a light leave in contitioner..like infusiam 23(brown bottle)
2. Becasue our scalp doesn't produce as much oil as others. We should wash our hair about ever 2-3 day's depending on your hair texture. For example if one of your parents is white or other. You should probaly was your hair every 2 day's but never everyday. Also, use a heading cap with your contitioner. The helps detangle your curls which will cut down on breakage. If you don't wash your hair enough it will not grow. Because your scalp will be inflamed-the same effect a perm has on your scalp.

3. If you have permed your hair all of your life. You will need to heal your scalp. After you wash your hair put 100% African shea butter on your scalp-cover your hair in a cholestrol conditioner and place a heating cap on your head for about 45 min. This will heal your scalp and promote growth.

Your avatar is very beautiful.

Here are some of my tips:
1)Leave in protective style more often than not.
2)Moisturize daily.
3)Drink carrot juice....makes hair grow super fast and thicker.
4) No heat (no blowdryers, hot comb, flat iron)
5)Water it. Nappy hair loves water.

I understand, When I put the conditioner in I comb it out then. And to dry it I, if I don't use a dryer, I rap my hair up, with a cotton Hijab, and tie it down for a day. It usually dries less tangled that way.

What kind of protective styles do you suggest?

I agree with Shani, no blowdryers, at least not very often.

I find that my hair gets really oily if I moisturise daily, so I don't.

I can't afford to wash my hair every 2-3 days, so I wash it weekly.

I am not adventoruous with my hair and maybe I should.

I shampoo and condition.

Then while it's still wet I comb through.

I then part it into small sections and apply a no residue or flake gel and either twist it 2 strands or plait it 3 strands.

It produces a very sexy and full afro in the morning.

I never comb through my fro, I run my fingers through it.

I steam it every 2 weeks.

I never use petroleum based hair products as they weigh the hair down and leave residue.

I stay away from alcohol based products as it dries the hair.

I guess thats why I wash my hair every 3 days. I use a leave in conditioner every day. How long does it take for you to twist your own hair? I always have to get someone else to do it for me.
It is not cheap either. I wish I could do it on my own.

Sorry it took long for me to get back to you. I am not on here every day. Protective styles that I have done and currently do are flat twists, bantu knots, braids. My hair is long enough for me to put in a bun now. I am currently wearing it in a rollerset all over (curls all over my head). You have to experiment because in the beginning, I had no clue as to what to do with my hair.

I use pure shea butter on my hair, and then I plait it. In the morning when I take the plaits out, it leaves my hair with a loose kink, which is why I am able to pull it in a bun without having to comb through it. Hope that info helps.

My hair is wet EVERYDAY, when I get out of the shower. My usual style is this little avatar over thatta way with tiny little coils.
If you wet your hair, and use a little conditioner with water as a leave in conditioner...
Shake the curls and let air dry, you get little tiny coils.

For a full fro, I do what my girl Fly does. Hey Fly!!!

Lol! I might try a straw or roller set this weekend and see how that goes...
I might post pics.

I wear my hair natural curly. I wash and deep condition once a week. In the shower every morning I wet my hair....then put olive oil spray sheen on my hair...then put a anti-frizz serum...I do comb my hair...and it is good to go. I had to start doin my hair that way...my hair was very thick..and from puttin hair dyes and wearing ponytails it started thinning out on the top. Any suggestions to get my hair back thick on top?

Massage the thinning areas with coconut oil and wear styles that do not put stress on the thinning area.

I'm sure you can see my hair from my picture.

I wash once a week and I usually go to the get washed.

I add alot of moisture to my hair.

Deep condition every two weeks.

I use alittle gel to manage my curlys and baby hair.

I use waem water to wash the hair. And then go to the should to get it straight.

I don't use combs unless the hair is straight. Or else I will have a big frizzy ball. I hardly ever use brushes either.

If your hair is curly like mines you need alot of products after as wash. If you have any questions I'm one call away.

Thanks, I try not be here to much, it is depressing.
In Africa I found this wire type of string. You braid it in with your hair and coil it up into a bun. I am too lazy to plait my hair up every night LOL. BYW-I started washing my hair everyday with this shea butter based shampoo. It is great! my hair growth is out of control. Apparently if you don't use perms you should be able to wash your hair with (non sulfuric) oil based (non- petro) shampoos everyday. Let me know if you want the product name.
