...Yep West Africans are diverse alright, and i'm sure that diversity is acredited to some arab, jew/hebrew, Egyptian or berber that interbred w/ some native indigenous WA and these genes fell into the WA gene pool hundreds if not thousands of years ago, that why fulanis, igbos, edos, fantis, Wolof and so forth exist in West Africa even before the "Europeans" came. These non-african features (straight noses, fine hair texture) found in the WA gene pool may not necessarily be a result of European admiture, but arabs and berbers aren't indigenous West Africas, and they don't share the same typical features. These non-African features came from somewhere they didn't just fall out the sky. LOL! LET'S BE REALISTIC, WAKE UP ALREADY!!! EVERYONE IN THIS WOLD IS MIXED SOMEWHERE DOWN THEIR LINE YES EVEN IN AFRICA! Denial is a disease.

lol.....where did you pull that pic from? this looks like a photo shoot with an African theme and dude looks like a model..no homo...am i expected to believe that is a genuine African tribesman?

As for this issue Africans/blacks come in all look and features naturally...I would expect the same from Igboo people cause I hear that many AAs are the decendents of them and you see how diverse in looks we are

The Igbo people are not mixed, they are just a very diverse non homogenous stock of people. Yes Olaudah Equiano is Igbo (I don't know what Igbo Guy was talking about, Yoruba ancestors? making things up does not make it the truth), but that is just one person, if you had read old slave journals and so on you would see that the Igbo were known for being yellowish in color and even resembling mulattos, so much so we had the nickname in the diaspora, Red Eboe. This not mean we are mixed, it means we are different.

I see your in Virginia, which is ironic.........

The Fulani and Hausa migrated to West Africa from the east. Hence their different appearance. They are the ones with the most Eurasian DNA, which is very ancient. Haplotype R is present in Africa among Cushitic speakers (though not Somalis), and R is the type of the Indoeuropeans (Aryans).

West Africans have varying admixtures of East African as well as Khoisan, even among the groups who speak W African languages and are considered "indigenous" (Mande, Yoruba, Igbo, etc.).

It would be interesting to see a genetic analysis of the Igbo population; I haven't seen one yet but I'm sure someone's done at least a preliminary study.

Bottom line: nearly everyone is mixed. Name an ethnic group and we'll find 3-6 different ancestral groups, in most cases.

I'm halft Hausa and described as 'light skinned', but I am 100% African and certainly am not interested in looking for any European, Arab or other ancestry to claim. Diversity is all it is. Why should all African have to look like Alex Wek to be viewed as 100% African. NONSENSE!! I'm fed up of being told I don't like West African or Ghananian, or being told that I look mixed or like an Ethiopian. It's all bullocks and very annoying!!

Not all Igbo are light skinned. My closest friend is Igbo and she is dark with very tightly curled afro hair. Igbo are a diverse group. Leave them alone. They are a proud people and have no need or desire to claim any other ethnic group.
