How in the world did black men handle slavery? Black men were in love with many of the women on their plantaion and other plantations.

Could you still love your woman while she sleeps with massa? I mean when you want to get soft and warm, and your woman is summoned by massa to do her thang, wouldn't that harden your heart some?!?

I mean when you want some lovin but she tired from sexin massa,or the overseer,or who ever the desided to pimp her to, wouldn't that effect you?!?

I mean when you expectin junior to pop out,and he comes out lookin the overseer,or Massa charlie wouldn't that kinda of hurt?

Could you look at her the same?

Now even though it wasn't her fault, could you still love her the same?!?

I mean they sell you off from your family,or sell your son for the hell of it,how can you stand?!?

Stand yes. Heart fill of hate, no question.

Black men went trhough hell.

These are the reasons why black men are the way they are today.

Yes slavery has an effect on us to a certain extent b/c some ideals were passed down. However after slavery in the early 1900's the marriage rate for AA's was I believe 90% if not higher. Black and white marriage rates were nearly identical. We didn't have high rates of babies being born out of wedlock. This is a modern day problem created by circumstances and chances in American culture as well as in black American culture.

Most Black Americans are fully aware of Black U.S. history but if you live in the pass you will find yourself stuck in the pass.

Black women slept with their masters for survial...be it to save her life and the lives of her black family members, a better suit of clothes to keep her warm or extra food on the table.

You also need to understand the mindset of slaves were totally different than it is today.

C/S I'm so tired of him complaining. Thread after of questioning bw love/loyalty to bm & now this. Reminiscing about what slaves owners did to us bw? If he wants to date out then he can just do it. Stop bringing up fake movies/hollywood & talking about how bw are w/playing in roles w/wm. This thread is awful. Nobody, esp. bw want to keep hearing what happened repeated over & over & over again. He needs get off topix & head to the nearest shrink.

Let's not forget that some of strong strapping black men also went to service "Massa."

I myself could've thought up quite a few nasty and naughty things involving slaves male and female, myself and maybe a Southern belle or two !!

not for survival. That was there job.

their mind state was different yesterday?!?

Yesterday is today.

So how did black men deal with the idea the woman of his desire, the woman who floats his boat, coming to him after a vagian filled with sperm?!?

Slavery was 130 years ago.

No mindstate was that different.

eveything that happened 5000 years ago,500 years ago,50 years ago,5 years ago,or 5 months ago,of 5 minutes ago,will correlate to what happens 5 minutes from now,5 years from now,50 years from now,500 years,or 5000 years.

Test it what you can.

Tommy, as with any man, I'm sure the witnessing of his woman being sexed by his enemey was a painful, humiliating experience. However, Black men bite the bullet and endured whatever they had to in order to stay alive.

Do you really think Black women enjoyed the rape inflected on them by their masters? I think not. But we need to return to the idea of SURVIAL...TO STAY ALIVE.

Actully it is my opinion Black women suffered moreso than her man. Not only was she subjected to rape but she was forced to witness the fruit of her womb (her childern) sold, beaten, and worked to death while she pampered massa's children.

She could not look up to her man as provider or leader because he wasn't. Massa provided everything...clothes, food, shelter and freedom.

How could she look to her man as a leader when her man was powerless to make any type of important decision?

American slavery and its effects was as horrible stain that haunts us even today.
