Can U prove your direct ancestors were SLAVES?

I can prove my direct ancestors were discriminated against. Just look at their skin color +)

For a few sides of my family there is even more records b/c they were "house" slaves.

Yes I can. My family has a family tree that traces our roots all the way back to slavery. In fact, it even has the name of the slave who was brought over from Africa. Family researchers are still filling in gaps, but there is enough informaton available to paint an accurate picture.

Another side of my family still owns the family house (parts of it are still the original log cabin structure) that used to be slave quarters for our ancestors. The house is a registered county historic landmark too. They have applied for a state designation as well.

Yes, and have docs to prove it. Mother's side: Kidnapped African was "transported" from Liberia in 1822. Sold on the "block" for approx.$800.00. Changed his name to Ebornizer Lewis. His son, Jefferson Lewis, was such a good "House N@@@er" his massa made him an example of the perfect servant and convinced the local newpaper to write a small article on him(my aunt still have the clippings(how embarrassing). He looks like "step N' fetch it".(more embarrssement sigh)

Of course on average it's hard for one of African Ancestry to prove a direct link to distant slave relative, due to either document cover up, or otherwise destroyed evidence. Yet one needs not to research hard the discrimination and ill effects of bigotry and racism perpetuated by white supremist hate groups, and others of the likes, even by some in respect professional positions.

I cant really prove it but I know I had to have slavery someone where down the line in my grandmothers side. And maybe on my grandfathers fathers side since his mother was indian.

Good qestion Earl. The thing is..I think that most blacks here in the sates ancestors were slaves here. I do believe if they took the time and paid the money they could provide some sort of document that they traced back to someone or people who were slaves.
You can correct me if I'm wrong.

Today in 2008 Actual africans come here to live. They obviously have no roots tracing back to American slavery.

On my mother's side, our ancestors were from plantations in the Cane River area of Louisiana.
