Monumental Statue Of Black Egyptian Pharaoh Found

There are 241 comments on the www.digitaljournal.com story from Jan 9, 2010, titled Monumental Statue Of Black Egyptian Pharaoh Found. In it, www.digitaljournal.com reports that:

Archaeologists have discovered a monumental statue of an ancient black Egyptian pharaoh of the Nubian 25th Dynasty in Dangeil, Sudan, about 350 kilometres northeast of the capital, Khartoum.

The granite statue of the warrior pharaoh Taharqa weighs one ton, according to its discoverer, Dr Caroline Rocheleau of the North Carolina Museum of Art, who added it was:

More than life-size and weighs over one ton.

Taharqa was ruler of both Egypt and Nubia (Kush) during the 25th Dynasty, which was based in Nubia, which had a long history of pyramid building, apparently independent of Egypt. His reign is dated from 690 BC to 664 BC. The pharaoh is mentioned in the Bible in the Book of Kings under the name ”Tirhakah.” 2 Kings 19:9 says:

Now Sennacherib received a report that Tirhakah, the Cushite king of Egypt, was marching out to fight against him. So he again sent messengers to Hezekiah with this word:

The National Geographic magazine dealt in depth with Egypt’s neglected black pharaohs and described the majesty of Taharqa’s reign and his success against the mightiest power of the ancient Middle East at the time, Assyria. Eventually, King Essrhaddon of Assyria would defeat Pharaoh Taharqa, who continued to rule in Nubia, despite his defeat

No, they were not all black. Many were, and not just the Nubians. Egypt was mixed for much of its history.

The earliest pharaohs would have to have been black as they were from Upper Egypt where the civilization began and people there were (and still are) black.

both upper and lower egypt was black before semitic people invaded lower egypt.egypt did become mixed because of foreighn invaders but you're correct that the earliest pharoas and originators of the civilization who were responsible for the pyramids, they were black;as far as i'm concerned those are the only egyptians that matter.

when they bring up the 25th dynasty(wich was a great one)it's usually an attempt to give blacks some crumbs, and get them to shut up about egypt.because they can't hide the 25th dynasty was black/nubian..so they admit it so blacks can be appeased and not claim the people who built the pyramids and was responsible for all the sciences, and math, strology, etc

Even in early pre-dynastic times in northern Lower Egypt there were Eurasians, of Berber type. Not all of Egypt was black even then.

When the 2 kingdoms were united, that brought a lot of Eurasians into the civilization. That is why the arguments go on.. because in the art we see both "white" and "black" people... because Egypt was MIXED!!!

It began in the south, however, among black people.

The originators of Egyptian civilization were clearly black, yes, as it evolved out of the prior Neolithic Badarian society of Upper Egypt... and they were clearly black.

Still, in the north, not so. Lots of Berber types. Today the ethnic Berbers are no further east than Siwa, but back then they extended over across the Nile Delta. They were assimilated as Egyptian civilization quickly expanded.

That means that after the initial few centuries, there were scientists, etc., who were also Eurasian and not black in Egypt...

It is also true that there were pre-Egyptian complex societies verging on civilization... in Nubia as well as in the Sahara... these were also created by "black" people.

Not negro?Describe to me what a Negro looks like?If you're saying that they don't look like black people because of their supposed narrow features on their faces, you're wrong. Black people in East Africa have had those features for thousands of years before you genetic dead ends came into existence and it's an adaptation to living in a humid and arid climate like the desert.Hang up ands try again cracker.

Uhhh, do you have anything of substance to back that up, high school dropout? Didn't think so. Shaddup, loser. Shouldn't matter to your kind anyway. You were wearing animal skins, eating raw meat and living in caves, lol. Should have stayed in school and furthered your education and then you wouldn't sound so illiterate.

Now laugh at that, dumb arse!

True. When the King Tut exhibit was in Philadelphia, you should have seen the look of shock on some of the visitors to the exhibit when they viewed King Tut's father's statue. What was really hilarious was outside of the exhibit was a statue by an artist that depicted the boy Tut as white, but had a disclaimer on it stating no one really knew what King Tut looked like! Even in the face of undisputable proof, there are a segment of people who simply cannot or will not accept certain facts.

I guess it was our lying eyes, lol.
