Which God(s) exactly? And why are there so many contradicitons?

And why didn't this deity bother to tell us a bit more about the conditions around the Solar System. That would have been helpful.

It was illegal to celebrate Christmas in colonial times.
This country was founded on Christian principles.
Where, exactly, is that pointed out? Certainly not the Constitution copy that I have.
The right to religious freedom was meant as Protestant religions eg. Baptist, Quacker, etc.
Again: Not in my copy of the Constitutio. And there were Jews in the country at that time. They, and all of us Non-Christians, were afforded the freedom to believe as we will (or won't).
God prospers a nation that serves him and as we fall away from holding him up this nation will not prosper and will fall.

lol.. well put. However if you were to read what else I have written, I said I have worked side by side with Muslims. One specifically told my husband he needed to control me better. He was easily offended and spout rude remarks. Sigh: Most Muslims do hate Jews and they do hate Christians. They are taught to. If you weren't then maybe your different. Why don't you try to walk around the streets of Palestine with a flat, round cap. See how quickly peace will be offered to you.
I have worked with Muslims, Christians and Jews. I have heard a Christian call a black colleague using the "N" word and others belittling Jews. I have no illusions about the names they called me when I'm not around!

At school, good christian boys would routinely and cheerfully call me and the other non-white pupils by the most abusive names and, from time to time, resort to violence.

I could write from these experiences that white christians are nasty, bigoted, narrow-minded xenophobes who are obsessed with a belief in racial superiority and that their religion teaches them to hate "lesser" races. Bush invaded Iraq in the name of his God, resulting in the deaths of 655,000 innocent Iraqis - one could conclude that his "God" has blood on his hands.

I will, however, avoid such simple generalisations. Life is more complex than that. The sins of extremists and bigots should not be visited on all those that share their faith. I do not hold all christians responsible for the filthy e-mail sent by one "nice white boy" to my pre-teen son - the contents of which are too appalling to repeat. Nor for the unprovoked verbal abuse directed at my wife by a "nice white man". I know there are nice white christians as well as these nasty examples.

Decent people, Muslim and Christian, need to stick together and work together to defeat the bigots, Christian and Muslim.

The Koran, as that's the book of his beliefs. What point would there be to swear on a Bible if the Bible holds no meaning to him? Now mind you, he did not swear to uphold the Koran, he took the same exact oath as every Congressman, to uphold the COnstitution and the laws of this country.

Oh just give it up with the historical rewrite. The Constitution is not a "Christian Origin Document". The Constitution is not based upon Christian principles in any way. It shares a few of those principles, but they are principles that CHristianity itself adopted from outside. There is nothing inherent to Christianity that is in the Constitution.

It always amazes me how you flag-waving, gun-totin' conservative "Americans" are the ones always trying to undermine the very ideals of what this country is supposed to stand for. You don't want the U.S.A., you want a Christian theocratic republic.

Nancy Pelosi is a typical political hypocrite.
She exempted American Samoa from the minimum wage bill. Del Monte, which is headquartered in her district, just happens to run a huge labor factory at their tuna plant in... American Samoa. The minimum wage hike will not apply there. It doesn't matter what party, Dems or Repubs, they are all the same.

Yep, typical reply from someone with little knowledge and lots of anger and bigotry. You're a great Christian I must say! A Christian majority does not make this a Christian nation. It is a secular nation, so stop trying to destroy our country.

I understand that this senator will be sworn in with his hand on the koran. My understanding of the koran is that they are to "kill the infadels" (those that do not believe in the koran). Our country was founded upon the belief in the one true God.Why then, should we allow and accept to let this happen. Our country, although made up of many fine nationalities, is based on the bible (which is proven factual by many ancient writings and findings). To even consider having the koran writings in our government is an outrage. Those choosing to come to this country should accept our beliefs and democracy. I am afraid of where the people are allowing this country to go. Wake up Americans!
. just tell me where in the Koran said that muslim have to kill the non beleiver, just like that with no reason at all, just cause they do not believe in something muslim they do not believe in it. that only showed how ignorant are much of the american people, why don't you just read in the koran and correct yourself by yourself, first of all can you just quote from the koran and show us where it says kill the "infedals" the ones they do not believe in the koran??? i will make it easy for you, you can read the koran word by word there is no kill the infedals just like that cause they refuse to believe in the koran. and the "non believer" in the koran means the ones they do not believe in god in anyway, in other word means ethiests, it's the denial of any suprem being than the material world. so jews and christians are not included in the term of non believer in the islamic believe. and you can read the koran and see how many times Allah orders the muslim the respect "the people of the book", which means jews and christians, and especialy those they are living among muslims, in a muslim society, it's a big crime in the islam law to hurt a jew or christian cause they are protected by law. and that's why in Morocco just 6 years ago there were two jews moroccan in the goverement and nobody thought oh god this is the end of the world, no we are much more smart than that, they are Moroccan and they want to serve their country and no one can stop them or take that right from them.
second of all, even with the ethiests there is nothing in the koran said muslim should kill them, the word "kill" in the koran can be used only again those they try to kill muslims or kill any other innocent poeple even they are not muslims that's it, that means muslim have the right to fight back, and have the right to act first to stop the killing of any inncoent poeple.
so the word "kill" can be used only again "killers", agains people with weapons and they have the intetion to kill. and even in a war nuslim cannot touch or hurt any civilan no matter what, they cannot even cut trees, they have to respect all kind of life and protect it.
do us a favore, next time when you want to talk about something read about it first from its sources, do not let the media or anyone else to wash your brain, and if your want to quote from the koran or any other book, try to quote the whole things, read what's before and what's after so you can have better knowledge and more important so you can be fair in your jugement.

Decent people, Muslim and Christian, need to stick together and work together to defeat the bigots, Christian and Muslim.
well again, how did you come up with this conclusion that Muslims hate jews and hate christians??? you will not find in any islamic resources Koran and prophet's saying any asking or ordering musilim to hate any people just cause they believe in something different, all you can find in those teaching is the word RESPECT the PEOPLE OF THE BOOK, which means jews and christians.
and something else jews they never suffered in the muslim world as they did in the christian world, go and read about the history of the jews communities in east and west europ and then you will find out who really have the hate in their heart Muslims or christians.
i hope before you mentioned palastine you have to read a little about that issue, palastine was fine untill the so called the christaion great powers at that time decided to give it to their ally zionists from west europ. and zionists are not jews by the way, zionism is an imperial raciste ethiest ideology, and judaism is a religion that believes in god and justs.
and muslims do not have in their believe if someone slap on on your right chick turn around and give him the left one, no, but they have if someone slap you slap him back or fogive as a sign of power. so if you will go to palastine and be a part of the occupation do not be surprised if they slaped you there.
the last thing is, i see now why this muslim guy asked your husband to control you a little more, cause you are an ignorant, and you talk about things you do not know that's why you need some control in your life, and the best controle for you i think is knowledge, so please go educate your self before talking this way you will not embarrass your self or your poor husband.

THIS ^^^^^ makes PERFECT sense right here. I couldn't have said it any better sister. There's not much of a difference between the way that christians have forced others into submission and Islam/muslims have. Remember the great crusade?
