As far as McCain goes, I'm not a Republican, but I definitely think McCain 2.0 is less attractive than the earlier ("real") version. He's working to hard to appeal to everyone, and so may end up appealing to no one.

I read your excellent posts (keep it up please) and am only editing it down to this one line because I think it is just that important.

In many ways, Obama has already won. That doesn't mean those of us working on his campaign can slack off or quit. On contrary.

But the media has a vested interest in portraying the race as close even when it's not. The vast number of new Democratic registrations coupled with it being human nature that voting for is almost always a far bigger motivator than voting against (ask any Madison Ave exec or political pollster that one lol) along with the very damaged GOP brand and disunity of that party (they failed to have a party makeover like the Dems did) means this election is favoring the Dems bigtime.

That would be why highly reputable Rasmussen rated the chances of the Dems gaining the White House at mid sixties percentile just before the Democratic primary came to a close.

I am noticing that the McCain campaign is doing two things: following down Hillary's path almost exactly and drawing criticism from Republicans for doing that too. Where's his message? Where's his running mate? Where's his unified party? Where's his money? He had a huge head start! I guess someone who's taken a lifetime to getting around to running for President (again) because he'll be able to suddenly offer all these changes he couldn't from his many years in the Senate doesn't see a few months as any time at all. Next stop: November.

Do you really think that all politicians allowed to run for President aren't beholding to the same people in power? They may speak to certain special interest groups and throw them extra crumbs, but they will all continue you on with the power elite agenda. All their speeches and groups they deliver speeches to are so strategic. Did you see how the media pushes certain people and totally ignores others when the field of cadidates is seven or ten on each side? Do you think some truly great and wonderful person who really wants to save this nation and break away from the elite cabal could ever make it? The government has become huge and powerful- a true beast. We have to wake up to the fact that anyone that is pushed at us by the (corporate owned) media is not good.

The people of this nation could take back the government- it's possible. But they don't even understand the real problem.
