It doesn't mean that it's not possible, because biologically humans fall in love or have a hormonal spill over. However it means that if you fall in love with let's say a black woman, you're parents will probably kick your ass. Am I correct or wrong?

uhhh, I've been away for a couple of months and people are ready to kill each other. People again, if a particular race is not your style, fine then its ok. We all have our own opinions and you know what I'm finding out being a young man, its ok some times not to give an opinion. You can talk about black women (even though I'm not one) like a dog, you can say all the racist jokes about black men all you want, heck you can talk about me and throw me into the same cataglory, but I know who I am and what I am about and most importantly...what type of women I like. I like Indian women (this is just for you Malaki) and when the time comes for me to marry and when Christ reveals us to one another, I will come looking for you with my woman smiling from ear to ear loving my woman like Christ loves the church and you won't be able to say anything =:). Not fair to judge all Indian men. Especially Indian men in US might have more accepting relatives. Just my opinion.

I have said before there can be prejudices between north and south particularly b/c of the language divide but that is not defining INdia.

I think from facts - soecio-economic facts - that the prejudices in india are caste and religion...And despite colorism, and how much I hate bleaching, I don't see anything wrong in prefering someone who is lighter or darker or olive-skinned or whatever? What I hate about colorism is that the dark-skinned beauties that INdia has in underappreciated.
BUt it would be difficult in looking at socio-economic stats for me to say that colorism decides an Indian's chances for the future?
And one of the ways that I have broken down this stereotype is to show you:
-Some of the wealthiest areas and most successful areas of INdia are in the South.
-Some of areas of the south have education levels that are much higher than any other part of india

I believe we are going around in circles here. Lets get a few facts here. Northerners believe that caste system is this....
1. Brahmin - Everybody whether north or south believe Brahmins are Aryans and not Dravidians. When you introduce an educated south Indian to a group of northerners the first thing assume is the guy is a south Indian brahmin. According to VS Naipaul it is common for northerners to believe every educated person in the south must be brahmin....
2. Kyshatria - Warrior caste is typically north Indian
3. Vaishya - Another northern caste
4. Shudra - apart from the lower caste in the north, most north Indians place Dravidians into this caste. Why? because they dont fit into the above 3......

This was all I was trying to say to Asha. The Keralites (Mallus) believe they have Aryan blood which many do through the Namboodiri Brahmin practice of taking concubines from the Nayar caste. The children become Nayars. Keralan people are worse than northerners because they carry a desire to distance themselves as far as they can from tamils, but have no hesitation taking advantage of Tamil hospitatlity in madras.

I classify Telegus and Karnatakans as Dravidian speaking Aryans, one only has to look at Ashwariya Rai to know what I mean.

My second question, Is the caste system solely based on labor or does it have some racial aspect associated to it?

In the north caste is race based...
In the south its based on division of labour

South
Top caste = land owners
middle = merchants, educated people
lower- fisherman, unskilled
low - toilet cleaners, grave workers
lowest - tribal people (not tribals are sometimes very beautiful....the actreses Ashwariya Rai and Shilpa Shetty both belong to a tribal caste
