What a dilemma what are the barbarian states to do resort to more barbaric methods to kill people? Sure----mans brutality to man knows no limits.

Take a life, lose a life...simple as that.

For me, IF we could predetermine who was going to go on to murder, I'd not let them be born in the first place.

What do you believe should be equal and fair punishment?

The death penalty is wrong because it there are no assurances of guilt and the degree of guilt.
To many innocent put in prison even sentenced to death to find out later they were innocent. Now we see the governments returning to methods that were "barbaric" 30-40 years ago but now those methods are ok because the killing drugs are no longer available. We need to stop this barbaric practice that every other country in the world has either abandoned or never had.

So what do you believe to be equal and fair punishment for those who are in fact proven guilty of crimes?

punishment should fit the crime-If someone is convicted of 1st degree murder they should be punished by life in prison without the possibility of parole. The fly in the ointment is our judicial system is broken so can someone get a fair trial in this country? That is debatable. To many innocent are found guilty and to many guilty are set free. Jurys are made up of imperfect people with prejudices how many take the oath of duty seriously enough to make a truly unbiased decision?

"Punishment should fit the crime ..."

Perhaps that's what people view executions are for.

My opinion is that stricter penalties should be in place for those who are proven guilty of crimes aka punishment fits the crime as you candidly pointed out to us.

Capital punishment is not a cure-all and definitely not a deterent case in point since the death penality was restored has the number of homicides decreased? Most capital crimes are not premeditated but are drug related. The family members of a convicted murderer should not have to witness their father, brother, son dying a cruel prolonged death due to the fact the government doesn't have the ability to kill another human being humanly. This stems from a society that is becoming more and more inhuman treating animals better than humans..

I don't see anything wrong with executing any criminal that has been found guilty 3 times of any crime. This would stop shoplifters, deadbeat parents, repeat driving offenders etc.

What about justice for the victims?

There are people who are victims and are living in fear.

Harshly punishing those who deserve it can alleviate a lot of problems.

You do realize that many if not all reprobates (rapists, pedophiles, etc) can not be rehabilitated.

What's your suggestion for them?
