Wilding for Profit

So now the Central Park Five are $40 million richer.

It’s all thanks to Mayor de Blasio’s decision to lavish taxpayer funds on a group of thugs who’ve been lionized in film and feted by the City Council as innocent victims of a racist conspiracy after their convictions for raping and beating a young jogger in 1989 were overturned.

Justice at last? Hardly.

The Post has always been skeptical of the belated claim by serial killer Matias Reyes claim that he alone raped jogger Trisha Meili. Under Mike Bloomberg, the city resisted intense political pressure to settle the five’s lawsuit — with good reason.

There remains strong evidence that, as famed anti-corruption prosecutor Michael Armstrong found in his review of the case, the five “more likely than not” took part in the jogger attack.

There was overwhelming evidence they’d been in the park that night, engaged in a series of “wilding” assaults. Reyes himself — who was never questioned under oath before the convictions were vacated — told a fellow inmate “a group of kids” assaulted the jogger before he came on the scene.

Indeed, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that two doctors who treated her say some of her wounds were not consistent with Reyes’ account, and that there were several sets of handprints indented on her thighs, suggesting multiple attackers.

The five were convicted on the strength of their videotaped confessions, made in the presence of parents or guardians after full Miranda warnings.

Most significantly, the jurors knew when they convicted the five that no DNA connected them to the rape — and DNA of another unidentified assailant had been found at the scene. Still, they concluded the evidence left them with no grounds for reasonable doubt.

Yet now the five, having been declared exonerated and hailed as casualties of racism, will be handed a huge check. This is the real miscarriage of justice.

Whiny Dave again trying to pretend Obama isn't the POTUS and that Obama did not fight congress about putting sanctions on Iran. Poor, poor Davy living in the past. Staunchly refusing to admit anything has happened since 2009.
Actually, President Obama formed a coalition of countries that slapped significant sanctions on Iraq & brought them to the negotiating table & an agreement.

Some in Congress wanted to place additional sanctions on Iran which the President opposed as long as the current agreement was in place & functioning. Evidently lots of those in Congress opposed it as they got it passed into law.

What has happened since 2009 is that Obama brought Iran to the negotiating table.

All your buddy Bush do was try to start yet another war with Iran. But hey, to you, that never happened because it was in the past & we know how much you whiners like to deny the past ever happened.

Not at all, just pointing out that the removal of Sadam was a good thing to the Iranians. Helped the Iranians far far far more than it helped this country.

The Iranians made trillions & got their most hated rival killed & it cost us a trillion & 4500 soldiers.

JERUSALEM (AP)— Israeli warplanes bombed a series of targets inside Syria early Monday, the Israeli military said, in response to a cross-border attack that killed an Israeli teenager the previous day.
In all, Israel said it struck nine military targets inside Syria, and "direct hits were confirmed." The targets were located near the site of Sunday's violence in the Golan Heights and included a regional military command center and unspecified "launching positions." There was no immediate response from Syria.

There's more violence at your family's barbeques.

City barbecues turned deadly Sunday as two people were fatally shot, raising the number of weekend shootings to 21.

Keshon Porterfield, 17, was killed shortly after midnight in a back yard on East 232nd Street in The Bronx’s Wakefield section. Witnesses and cops said nearly 200 people had been crowded into the yard for a party that was promoted over Facebook and featured lots of booze, drug paraphernalia and little food.

A girl, 17, was shot in the foot, and a boy, also 17, was shot in the leg as partygoers raced out of the yard through a long driveway and over a barbed-wire fence.

Porterfield was shot in the chest and died at Montefiore Medical Center.

Although cops said Porterfield appeared to have been the intended target, friends and fellow partygoers said he was shot protecting a girl.

“He pushed her out of the way and got the bullet that was going for her,” said Porterfield’s sister, Christine Johnson, 22.“She said he was her angel.”

A little more than an an hour later, a man was fatally shot at another barbecue, this one in Brooklyn.

Donnell Smith, 26, was dead on arrival at Brookdale Hospital after being shot in the head on Powell Street.

In all, nine people were shot Sunday, after 12 were shot on Friday and Saturday.

Obama is President of the United States.
I guess to you that means he was respopnsible for the Vietnam War.
You people are dumber than sh*t,.
You blamed Obama for allowing Iran fro gain strength.
Yet Iran gained that strength due to the following:
1) Bush took out their number one enemy, Sadam. In doing so, Bush created a new ally for Iran by putting in a Shiite government. Iran no longer had to worry about Sadam & wart with Iraq & could devote more revenues to their nuclear ambitions.
2) George W Bush caused oil to rise significantly by invading Iraq, a top 5 oil producer & a top 5 in oil reserves. That meant that every barrel sold by Iran got more than twice the revenue it did previously allowing Iran even more money to control their people & fund both nuclear ambitions & build up their military.
Now, You can pretend this didn't happen under your hero Bush all you want. But it did happen & the more you deny it, the dumber you look.
So hey, go for it. Lets see just how f*cking stupid you can make yourself appear today
No, I guess you are flailing for an excuse.

The history of the war was a very sad one as Saddam discovered what he thought was a weak and defenseless country was stronger and better armed than him. You are busy pretending that this was some epic battle between equals.

So, what was Saddam's solution? Well, duh, Dave--we all know the answer except you. Saddam quickly evolved into chemical weapons.

So, Saddam could be a powerful enemy of Iran only IF he could use his chemical weapons without them he was nada.

Spare us the history lessons about the powerful folk hero Saddam.

Regarding Iraq, New GOP House Majority Leader Has No Earthly Idea What He’s Talking About
So, let me get this straight. Maybe we need to put boots on the ground, but only if we have a strategy. Maybe airstrikes are the answer, maybe not. All depends on having a strategy. Everything is on the table, but you have to have a strategy. We need to stop the momentum of ISIS and we need to have a strategy. Gee, thanks, Mr. McCarthy. Sure glad you were able to clear that right up.
Like his predecessor Eric Cantor, McCarthy offers up no ideas, no plans, no anything. It appears that he knows how to criticize the President and Democrats and that is about it. In that exchange between Wallace and McCarthy, there was not one concise, clear point of view offered. Not a one. The man just hemmed and hawed and essentially spouted off important sounding gibberish. That is all we get from the Republican Party anymore. They are a party of second-guessing critics who know how to say no yet never offer any solutions.

according to some of the FOXbots, it seems Bush never was in office. it's all just a figment of liberal imagination. just ask the FOXbots. every bad thing that happened was all due to someone other than the guy who was or wasn't in office. it's all very confusing. some of the FOXbots don't even remember voting for Bush, though, somehow, they remember voting for Cheney.
