Why? He asked Congress for approval; which is what you rightwingers whined about; why? Because you thought the right was against Syrian intervention.
I am against striking Syria; I disagree with the President on this one; why are the Republicans in favor of it? Is this the only issue that the Republicans can be in favor of? War? Not healthcare, not jobs?
The Associated Press
WASHINGTON —
House Speaker John Boehner (BAY'-nur) says he will support President Barack Obama's call for the U.S. to take action against Syria for alleged chemical weapons use and says his Republican colleagues should support the president, too.
The Ohio Republican says the use of chemical weapons must be responded to. He says only the United States has the capability and the capacity to stop Syrian President Bashar Assad and warn others around the world that such actions will not be tolerated.
Said Boehner: "This is something that the United States as a country needs to do."
He spoke at the White House Tuesday after he and other congressional leaders met with Obama
The support of Boehner does not assure passage, but may cost him his job.

That tax is on the insurance companies not the policy owners or the union. What action the insurance companies might take if any, is up to them.

Oh no. Unemployment is not getting better, it’s getting worse.
Even the establishment media is taking notice.

“Widely followed pollster Gallup puts the nation's unemployment rate at an ugly 8.6% in August,” reportsCNBC,“a startling jump from the 7.8% the organization recorded for July. When counting the underemployed, the rate zooms to 17.7%, off its 2013 high of 18.2%.”

If you count in those who have dropped out of the work force, you get closer to 24% unemployment.

Gee, and all this time I thought that the job situation was getting better.

That’s what we Democrats having been telling everyone.
“This time we mean it,”“The recovery is finally here,”“We tried capitalism, and it didn’t work,”“We tried our plan, and it worked,”“Obama killed Osama…with his bare hands,” and “Does my head look big with this teleprompter?”

In the US the number of employed has only grown by 922,000 people since July of last year. And as many have noticed, over 70 percent of those jobs are part time.

The growth of the labor force itself has slowed so much that it has caused the BLS to revise previous projection of the growth of the labor force through 2012-2025 from 0.9% annually to 0.8% annually, according to HousingWire.

And don’t get me started in GDP. GDP actually reflects the poor state of the economy. Despite what we liberals want you to believe, companies want to hire workers. But they hire workers only when they think they’ll make more money from it.

A consequence of the poor jobs environment is that GDP has suffered.

Since 2008, growth in GDP has posted about a 0.6% average annual rate or 3% over 5 years.

That compares with the historical average long-term rate of 3.28%.

In a way the GDP numbers epitomizes Obama’s economic philosophy: He’s managed to squeeze a whole year’s worth of economic activity into 5 years and counting.

I think, if they strike, that it will go down in history as one of the biggest mistakes a US president has ever made. This is going to blow up, IMO, into something beyond the control of everyone. If Syria fires one missile into Israel it will not end till the middle east is a black hole.

Don't tell Carol or her bff DB.

Syria is a worse shthole than Libya, my own preference would be to pull back and let all those crazy mofo's kill each other off. There's nothing there__oil makes up a quarter of the GDP and then agriculture in the absence of drought, olives and such. Beyond that there's squat.
