So what was going on with the IRS Carol? I'll tell you. The staff in the Cincinnati office were doing their jobs the best they could considering the flood of 401C applications and the limited resources they had. The IRS is required to determine whether organizations applying for special tax status are "social welfare" groups or are instead engaged in political activity. Political groups cannot get the special tax status these groups were applying for.<quoted text>
We're left wondering who exactly is in charge of this government?
The president's top officials knew what was going on with the IRS months ago.
Shulman, IRS Commissioner, met with Obama 118 times. Bush met with IRS officials two or three times in 8 years.
That either means Obama was left completely out of the loop and someone else was in charge or he is feigning innocence.
He can't win either way.
Only one-third of the groups that were passed to specialists for a closer look were "conservative." Lots of other organizations were also checked, including progressive organizations.
No conservative organizations were denied their tax exempt status.
Just another phony "scandal" cooked up by the right wing and swallowed whole by gullible fools like you.
I think the Obama administration was wrong to fire or suspend anybody in this case.
