i've heard that plants feel pain...which means even vegans have their hands dirty too.

The plants showed concerned when they was going to be injured or something like that...i'm a little familiar with it.

It's very interesting. When the polygraph test was done, they lit the tree's branch on fire and the polygraph was as abrupt as it would be if a person was in distress.

Plants are not conscious beings, but they are living biological matter matter. And while science itself can neither prove for sure whether they are conscious, it knows based on scientific evidence that it has no physical structure in which thoughts, emotions or any other feeling for that matter, can be produced.
Being "conscious" may involve thoughts, sensations, perceptions, moods, emotions, dreams, and an awareness of self, although not necessarily any particular one or combination of these.
Simple polygraphs themselves (which is not really scientifically valid)do not suffice as evidence.
In fact this "plants with conscious" theory is way outdated. If plants do have a conscious it the conscious that humans place on such things. Which is why we hear sometimes "The spirit of a tree" or any similar reference we may use.

Plants are conscious. They just don't have a nervous system which Animals and humans have. We don't know if they do have sensations but the polygraph clearly shows that they have moods.

Well I do respect your respect for view on life, but this is about science and without the current knowledge of an "unknown nervous system" there is no way to measure such things. There is little scientific evidence to support the reliability of polygraphs. Polygraphs simply measure blood pressure, pulse, respiration and skin conductivity which can be influenced by many factors including the persons thoughts, meditative techniques, breath control or simply believing your lies are truth.

you have life that is animate and life that is inanimate. They turn our waste into oxygen, give us shade, provide foods for us....we are depended on them for life...how can they just be biological forms of life.

i'm no scientific genius but i have a basic knowledge of a lot of fields of science...which one i choose to build on varies by the day. You what's crazy???? Ever since i' dropped out of college i have periodic dreams where i'm going to college and i find out i wasn't going to the right class or just missed that class for most of the year without having no knowledge that i was even enrolled in that particular class....i hate those dreams...

yeah i could. But i'm very cautious as to what field i would get in..since oil and the economy is so bad. Investing in the wrong field could prove detrimental.

Yeah, that's true. I'm doing an economics degree and it's going well so far. I was never good at science. NEVER!!

I saw that experiment in High School and on Mythbusters. Plants do react to sounds.
