...racist answers blended with seriousness are welcomed. What is the underlining reason for black Americans not doing research on where their ancestors came from in Africa? There is a country in Africa somewhere where your ancestors come from and it can be researched as I've seen it done before. Why is there no interest in finding out your true heritage and lineage? My personal opinion is that maybe and big maybe many are ashamed of their African roots, but I could be wrong. Thanks in advance.

African tribes were mixed together during the slave trade so that their languages could be confounded so that they wouldn't have any chances to resist. Therefore African Americans don't belong(genetically speaking) to one specific tribe.

These white trolls always claim blacks are ashamed of something.

Why don't whites teach about white slavery in this country?

Are YOU ashamed?

Most whites in America don't have a clue where their lineage is.

You were the only one in here who actually took the time to answer the question. Thank you. That's why I've always thought you were the smartest BW on this forum by far. It makes the task to search extremely difficult but even not a specific tribe, I think many could find at least one clue that'll lead them in the right direction, who knows. But why do you think so many black Americans seem ashamed? I ask this because they're constantly comparing themselves to Egyptians, East Indians, Latinos (white and black hispanics), Native Americans, etc. Why the shame of their African heritage and talk badly about African born people particularly Somalians and Ethiopians? I find it sad personally but no one has asked the question on this forum before probably out of fear. But they're always claiming they're mixed when they have two really dark black parents for example and their grandparents are black but in the other breath they claim to have proof of Native heritage but can't find African heritage during the same time period. I asked also out of confusion. I think many are ashamed of their African features and never want to associate themselves to West Africa but only North Africa (HOA) when clearly their features are completely opposite of that of an Habesha. I hope I didn't confuse you.

So you're saying that ALL of the blacks in America aren't really black at all? Where did their ancestors derive from, Europe?

I think it has a lot to do with the stigma of being a west African. Black Latinos ancestors were apart of the slave trade as well, as far as we know we could be blood related to some of them even though many black latinos are mixed with other races as well.

West Africa, though have many many problems like the rest of Africa, is still a very beautiful region in many parts in my observation. Indeed black Latinos ancestors were a part of the slave trade. you are correct Carmiana.

I do not know what these whites are babbling about. 99% of them do not even speak their native tongue in this country.

Yet have a nerve to talk about blacks.

ROFL I don't see whites hopping on a boat to go visit their homelands either.

Most of them were shipped over here as slaves as well.

I'm serious ma'am. I know some dark Europeans too so they might be black which I can see why blacks may think their ancestors are from Europe or that they are the true Habesha people.

You do not teach it in school like you teach black slavery.

Why do you thick skinned people hide that? If I told an average white about white slaves in this country he/she would look at me like I am crazy.

So do not give me that dummy.

<quoted text>You're talking about people of whom 70% can't even identify their biological father. You expect them to trace ancestry through centuries?
Be serious.
Sir...you are now the second person to seriously answer this question. I have taken both yours and Carmiana's responses and consolidated them into one hefty conclusion. You are correct. It starts by finding the father first. 70% is a huge number in a community that is only 13% of the population. For a big place such as the African continent, it would be merely impossible when it seems to be merely impossible to find one individual, the father, in one state. Say no more. You are wise.

I've always had an interest to find out the african american side of my heritage, but it's quite costly I don't think anyone is ashamed it's just many AA have found comfort in the american culture and in my personal experience it seems africans don't like us because they too stereotype us, most blacks from other countries stereotype us

Indeed it is. Some African Americans just have to look more into it so that they will not be ashamed of where they come from.
