Kelly looks better than Beyonce but I'm sure growing up everybody fawned over Beyonce because she was light. I bet Kelly picked up on that from a very young age and started to dislike her dark skin. What makes it worse is I bet other Black Women and Black Men played a part in her not liking her dark skin.
We can say what we want about White people but we are the ones responsible for this type of nonsense in todays times. We keep stuff like this alive by promoting light skin Blacks over dark skin.
By the way Beyonce may be light but she look vapid and she come off as dumb. I'm not hating, just go back and read the letter she wrote to the president.
Nope. Beyonce is still hotter.(One black man's opinion)

Will you people quit with this dominant crap. Dominant means "that which expresses itself", okay?
This means whatever you *see* is therefore dominant. If you see pale skin, that means that trait is therefore dominant over whatever else.
And what does dominant have to do with trend? Do you know what a trend is?
I would suggest you take a primer course on genetics...

Kelly just doesnt like being a n()gger and wishes she was white. I find this is typical amongst many, many n()ggers.

Look at BeBowBowSay, Michael Jackson, etc....all bleaching they skin, weaves, lip reductions...just typical n()ggers being envious of whitey.

PS...SHUT UP N()GGER!

Of course Black Men think she is hotter because she is Light and wear a Blond Wig. No Black Man can resist that. If you put the most beautiful Dark Skin Black Women up against an average looking Light Skin Black Women, Black Men will always chose the light skin one.
Light is right and better is a part of the Black Mans psyche, but I am glad you admit it. Most Black Men will never admit it out loud.

I think beyonce and kelly are both on the same level of attractiveness, At one point i used to think kelly was better though she has a really beautiful smile. I understand where shes coming from, i used to feel like that 2 since alot of my immediate family and friends from school were alot lighter than me but you grow out of it.
Im not sure if its the same in AA society but I will assume it is, I never had low self esteem because of how my mum acted towards me(whose lighter), she used to tell me I was beautiful but having brains and character makes you more beautiful. It was mainly peoples reactions to my the differences between my light members of my family and myself.
long story short to that dude-"the king " blaming AA women solely for shadism, look at AA men also.
Minorities of both men and women perpetuate this stupid colourism nonsense...im glad Kelly got over it.

most white people dont really care that one black person is darker than another
Thats bullshyt and you know it. It was white people who invented that shyt. It was white people who used to put brown paper pags near black people and say that if you were lighter than the bag, then you were better.

Yep. I have a lot of red undertones with my complexion too. But my mother is probably only a smidge darker than Beyoncé's mom.

You are not correct on this issue. Plus it's only so much a mother can do anyway. You can't make your son appreciate something he simply doesn't appreciate.
bullshitz. firt as a mother, you have to be aware of the enviornment surround your children.

second, you have to make sure they understand "race" and racial protocol.

there i not a melanated mother in this world who is not aware of the darkskin dilemma..it is your responsiblity as parent and care taker to make sure your child has a healthy self-respect, acceptance and love of themselves, just as they are.

you can raise a child to love color and their people no matter what is going on around you.

so therefore, i point the fingers at the mothers for the proliferation of this mental illness among dark melanated people.

yes I do and darker skin will always be here because it was selected to be. Something that is trendy will no longer exist and this has never been the case.
Omg. Your understanding of a trend is not accurate.

Here is the definition of trend

TREND: 2.

prevailing style: a current fashion or mode.

why are you concerned about a babys hair texture? see, this mess is purposely passed from mom to child from generation to generation.

She grew up with Beyoncé and Beyoncé has always been beautiful with an amazing body...I, as a woman, can certainly see why men go crazy over Beyoncé.

IMO, Kelly was cute but she had to grow in to her beauty. She had to get her groove. I think now she's found it. I'm sure she also experienced a lot of racism regarding her complexion so of course that didn't help.

Please. The mothers are oftentimes victims of the same thing themselves. If it's a dark skinned mother, she feels the racism and if it's a light mom raising a dark woman, she also feels the societal racism. Lots of time it's coming from the kids father. You can't simply "raise" away racism. This society is simply made to glorify all which is closer to white. And while mothers and fathers should certainly do the best they can to help the child, to solely blame them for such a massive societal norm is totally ridiculous.

Kelly Rowland Says She Hated Her Dark Skin Color Until Beyonce’s Mom Helped Her Embrace Her ‘Chocolatiness’
Kelly Rowland recently opened up about this unfortunate time in her past during an interview with Cherise Nicole from CNikky, while attending the 2013 Essence Black Women In Hollywood luncheon last month.
“You know what I had great women in my life to help me overcome that. I remember I went through a period where I didn’t embrace my ‘chocolatiness.’ I don’t know if that’s a word, but I didn’t embrace my chocolate lifestyle. Just being a chocolate, lovely brown skin girl and being proud of that. I remember Tina Knowles, Bey’s mom and I remember being out in the sun and I was trying to shield myself from the sun and she said,‘Are you crazy?’ She said ‘You are absolutely gorgeous’ and she just told me how beautiful I was and how rare chocolate is and how gorgeous the skin is, all of this stuff. And I was just like ‘Yeah!’ Like a light went off. So between her and my mother and then me sitting out in the sun a little more, just to be a little more chocolate. You just embrace it. You embrace everything that you are as a woman, even your flaws too,” Kelly told CNikky.com .
We’re glad that Mama Knowles was able to step in and knock some sense into Kelly, because not realizing her skin’s awesomeness is too much for us to handle.

WoW! That's straight up disgraceful.
When she said ..."You just embrace it. You embrace everything that you are as a woman, even your flaws too."

That sounds like she's saying since she can't do much about it she just decided to embrace it, calling it a flaw to have dark skin. Kinda like a fat cow woman acting like she likes her fat because she's too lazy to diet.

I wonder if alot of black women DECIDE to "just embrace it."
