They are so beautiful - especially the little girl - I have never seen a black person (dark skin) with natural blue eyes. So colored eyes are not just unique to none blacks? Thanks for those photos.

You are right; my grandmother has sky blue eyes...But it outlines her natural eye color which is darkbrown. Aging is the usual cause of color change over time. Some eyes become darker, but most become lighter with increasing age.

The basis of human eye color. Pigment cells contain brown pigment granules. The lighter the pigment and the fewer the granules the lighter the iris color and the lighter the eye.

Pigment in the front layer of the iris (called the stroma) colors the iris. Eye color lightens when pigment granules drop in number, or when the granules make a lighter color.

The iris can also lose color if the pigment degrades. Eyes, unlike skin and hair, do not synthesize color pigment continuously. Instead, eyes keep pigment granules made earlier. So, if the pigment degrades, the eye color lightens.

Eye color probably changes for the same reason we have one head instead of two: genes. Genes determine all body characteristics including changing eye color as we age.

Ya, same here.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. I don't think anyone is exalting or glorifying one particular eye color over another - they all God-given and therefore beautiful; I think maybe because it's so unusual and untypical to see a black person with blue eyes that it does stand out as usual - be it ugly or beautiful. Again, it all depends. It doesn't mean that anyone wants to "get with" a blonde hair/blue eyed male. Just an observation!

Beautiful. Interesting combination of dark warm colors together with the more cool blue eye color.
