Yes I have already told you about my previous financial struggle. It was around 12 years ago when I lost my job and things had gotten pretty scary and no matter how well off you get, you don't forget the struggle. But I found a good paying job, a nice apartment and car and pulled myself up by my boot straps and later I met my future husband. My husband I are truly blessed to have all that we do that enables me to be a stay at home wife, have beautiful home in a nice neighborhood and don't to have to stress over bills like many people do. Just judging from your concern over money that you have mentioned several times, I sense that you are very poor, battling to pay your bills and a bit jealous of my and my husband's situation.
Again, this post confirms that you and your boyfriend or husband(doubt) have a combined income of less than 60K.

Your struggling was very recent, it wasn't in your early 20's because nobody considers anything in their early 20's as anything other than life.

Based on your posts, you're in your 40's, dating a white guy and splitting the bills 50/50. You both work general labor jobs, neither has a degree, and you don't have any children because you can't afford to not work, OR.. you don't really have a boyfriend and you live by yourself.

Good day!
So that's a "no". Obviously. We all already knew you didn't have a child. I just want you to see how ridiculous your lies come across to everyone else.

You don't have a family so if you are dating a man or married which I doubt, then all your situation is .. is you splitting the bills with a guy and scking his dck.

I haven't seen that movie either Capree. I was thinking about what a good black film would be like and you gave some really good ideas. I also wouldn't mind seeing a black version of the time machine. I'm a scify junkie so I hope a scify movie with blacks comes out eventually...I was honestly happy when Disney made the princess and the frog with a black princess. My kids loved the movie but were very confused about the voodoo lol...

Yep, it seems Hollywood only thinks black people are fit for comedies and dramas. I didn't see the Leprechaun in the hood but just from the title I tell it was zany as hell, lol. A Haunted House was suppose to be a black take of the Amityville/House horror movies. Where the white versions where serious and very frightening, the black version was full of stereotypes and laughs which was funny but I agree we need some variety.

Maybe we should stop worrying and focusing on whites...

Whites put out images that are favorable to whites of course. I don't give whites the amount of credit that some folks do. There are subliminal messages in everything but we pick and choose what we want to watch. Can't keep blaming white or liberal media. And Halle Berry is a biracial woman. I'm glad she won an Oscar no matter how she got it...

Hell maybe I should stop complaining about black films in general and just be proud blacks are given opportunity to direct and act without having our own networks...

They're really popular to white people, and blacks don't have much to chose from, just like the example I gave with "It's a Wonderful Life". The movie was out way before I was born, and me and my sibblings always watched it around Christmas Eve when we were still in grade school, however I don't remember us watching it in my earlier childhood. Now I guess we have "The Best Man Holiday" as our new Christmas story for blacks, which still throws IR garbage and stereotypes in are faces, but most of these blacks in this movie have careers, and not living in the hood with drug dealers and drug problems. So it's either that, or those movies that don't show blacks at all, and if they do, they're always the first to die in them, or they play those same stereotypes the majority of time anyway.
Where I'm getting to is, Hollywood has the final stamp of approval in what movies are allow to show...and they do have an agenda to play for keeps. Today they're even using black directors to write their own stereotypes camouflaged in a good plot, and it's easier for these sell-out blacks to get by with it. I agree that blacks should stop supporting so many of these movies. I think blacks should have boycotted Hollywood on the spot back when they gave Halle Berry an Oscar for doing "Monsters Ball", indicating black women had to drop their draws for a white man to earn the award. That's one of the main reasons I said IR dating on the screen was one of the biggest stereotypes geared towards blacks in the long-run, especially when they have the qua-ballistic undertone.
I see white America is well on it's towards damaging the image of blacks, through the economy and through the big-screen by making black people a permanent underclass of beggars, criminals, and prostitutes.

Halle Berry considers herself black, although she shouldn't now. I'll never defend any woman who drops their draws or do anything for an Oscar. I think that's a disgusting mindset... and I generally wouldn't hold a long dialogue in person or on-line with anyone who would defend such immorality concerning something most African-American men and women consider sacred. Not meaning to sound rude, but I think I'll in this chat with you concerning this topic...adios.

that's a good thing probably because i'm under the impression that you are an afronazi....fyi anyone that comes from a non black parent (mother or father) is not black. no matter how much you'd like to think they are. that's the difference between AA and backs from everywhere else. you accept half caste people as black when they are not! that's stupid! not tryong to be rude...just being honest. tschuss!

This afternoon I saw the movie "Prisoners", another movie that was pretty good and well written. I don't usually go see movies that has anything to do with kidnapping, children in particular. I wasn't in a mode to try "The Hunger Games", so I went against the grain again, and I found "Prisoners" a much better movie than what I expected. And it only cost a dollar in this new cinema I discovered, which will be my new spot. This took me back to the 1 dollar movie theater days of the late 80's, except these movies are current, minus the young knuckle heads.

Although there was no IR dating in this movie, this young cute black teenage girl, who played Terrance Howards daughter, was pretty close to Terrance Howards white best friends teenage son. So you know what that points to in real life. I hear a lot of people saying there are black men/ white women couples in the media too, but the black woman/ white man image always seem to reach the surface where more people see it, even the people who don't watch the media too often, or know the actors to well.

This was a completely different Terrance Howard than "The Best Man Holiday", but at least we didn't have to watch the IR kissing and dating garbage between the white man and black woman. Anyway, the movie was good, and it caught a lot of people off guard towards the end.

Im going to see best man holiday with my husband and my friend and her black husband. I doubt we will have any issues aboit the IR even my friends husband is secure enough man not to piss and moan about whose with who in a fictional tale. Me and hubby swapped enough spit in front of our friends that im sure they are desensitized to IR couples.

Bw need to take that same stance when they see bm/ww couples i mean the more u see it as less an issue the more ot stops phasing u!

i saw the movie prisoners and i gotta tell you "hated it!" why was terrence howard such a weak b8tch in the movie? his character lets the white guy dominate and manipulate him...then terrence howard starts crying and sh8t. i don't think ben affleck or george clooney would have taken a role that made them look so pathetic and feminized.

Yes I did notice that right off bat. He looked like Urkel. But at least he didn't have to get his azz whopped by Nick Nolte like Eddie Murphy did way back in "48 Hrs", although Murphy wasn't playing a punk who couldn't even put up a good fight. Nick Noltes' character was always the type who could use an azz whopping by a brother.

Anytime you see a movie with a predominant white cast, the white man always comes out the hero some way, but this punktified image of a black man by a white man is annoying. I noticed it back with the Richard Pryor movie "Moving", where Pryor was constantly terrified in a comical way of his crazy giant lawnmower riding white next-door neighbor Frank, he moved next too. But the image really showed in Terminator II, where Joe Morton, who also plays in Scandal today, played a high ranking black employing at a computer firm, crying and being punked out by the strong white female super hero character, Sarah Connor.

As far as "Prisoners", although I didn't dig that wimpy character, he did have a black wife who supported him. I've seen blacks portrayed in much worst ways, gay etc... But when you think of what happens when a child goes missing, you can put the wimpy thing aside for a minute. This movie made me think more of those cases when a child does go missing, and the ending isn't as fortunate. I remember when I once thought my daughter and nephew went missing, when I took them both with me to a late evening cookout in this white quiet neighborhood. The cook-out crew had to break up and search this white neighborhood before it got to dark. We seen no sign of them, and there was no other choice but to search the heavily wooded area. The host of the cookout was on his way back to the house ready to report the teens as missing, as the men at the cookout were ready to search the wood area. My heart suddenly feel through my feet when I saw this beginning to unfold. When I saw my daughter and my nephew standing in front of the house as we returned, all I could do was drop to my knees, and they were both 16, nearly young adults. You don't want anything near this in real life...and this was only a few hours. The movie reminded me of how lucky we all were that evening.

Ah fool, I told this happened to me 12 years ago, long before I met my husband who by the way has a masters degree and back then I was in my 20s. Your problem is that you don't read very well and love to put your own spin on what I have clearly told you. I can assure that I am not in my forties though my husband is my junior by a few years. My husband makes more than enough income to support us but I would be happy to work if he didn't. Keep on dreaming and telling yourselves false things about me, if it makes you feel better because I really could care less.
