Hi all. I'm new to Topix and am glad to see an AA forum.

I saw The Great Gatsby tonight and enjoyed it better than I expected. Jay-Z executive produced the soundtrack and although it's a 20s period piece, I thought the modern mix of hip hop fused with the jazz age blended nicely. Of course there were other musical sounds but the hip hop dominated.

Has anyone seen the film? If so, what are your thoughts about modern music in a period piece?
